I was in YouTube and just happened to listen the song "Clube Da Esquina II" sung by Flávio Venturini. I have never heard about him. The first time that his falsetto appeared in the song, I was blown away. It is so unique, beautiful and ethereal. Check it for yourselves. https://www.youtube...

I'm back! Let's talk about the great music by many artists across the world who are not in english language. The canon of world popular music, even here in RYM, is very limited to american or britain music. Other countries with many diverse, unique genre and styles produce music as great, but almost...

I don't agree with your statement, such a list should be in my opinion a guidebook saying "here are the 500 albums you should listen to to have a good overview of modern music". That doesn't mean the albums are the best but the most representative, influential and impactful ones, and if I...

Any list of “albums you must hear before you die” is pointless

Any list of “albums you must hear before you die” is pointless I’ve come to this conclusion because of the reasons below: 1-I have seen many people in web trying to review all albums in one of these lists and saying what albums of the list are truly “must hear before you die” or not. The answer? The...

Re: What is the best Beatles album? And the worst? (not counting Yellow Submarine)

For best it's a difficult choice between Revolver (a great and varied collection of songs) and Abbey Road (with a greater flow and therefore more of an album feel), but I went with Revolver. Worst is easier, I really don't like The White Album. It's all the more frustrating because there are severa...

I know that technique is very important and goes far more than vocal range, tough there are and were many great singers that don't have beautiful voices or even good technique, but there is still something very unique and full of personality in their singing's styles and voices that makes them great...

Is having a really impressive vocal range of more than 3-octave a overrated quality?

Don't understand me wrong: I marvel with singers that have big vocal ranges. What I want to say is that people frequently use vocal range as a crucial aspect in put some singers above others and undeservedly end criticizing some singers just because don't have more than 2 octaves of vocal range. It ...

An analysis about why the GREAT rock music received and still receive so much prejudice.

Rock is really GREAT music. I believe that the reasons of why rock was received so badly by adults, songwriters and music stars in the 50s and 60s were not just the natural repulse that people have of new things (the fact that the rock bands wrote the own songs put big fear in the songwriters), but ...
