Love the fact that he loves "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift. I think beneath all the glossy pop production and faux-country strings, "You Belong With Me" is a sublime indie-pop tune; it has tons of charm, tons of hooks and its earnestness is undeniable.

"Maestranza" by Fleet Foxes off their new album Shore caught me by surprise. It almost feels like an R&B track and as always, Robin Pecknolds has one of the very best voices out there. His timbre is bright, piercing with enough warmth to balance it out.

4 by Beyoncé, which is the first of her terrific album run (followed up by the sensational self-titled and then Lemonade.

Sonic-wise, 4 is not very cohesive but every song is executed in a way that I can see them being promoted as a standalone single for sure.

^"Mariners Apartment Complex" was officially released in 2018, no?

"7 rings" sticks out like a sore thumb. That was among the worst songs in Grande's album. "imagine" is a much better cut.

I know i'm late to the party, but I just listened to "Bags" by Clairo multiple times, due to it's high position on the EOY songs spreadsheet so far. I had never listened to Clairo's music before (although I had heard of her), but now it seems like i'm going to have to dig deeper into her discograph...
