Re: AMF's 100 Greatest TV and Film Actors and Actresses of All Time (2017): Results
Apologies for the weeks-long double-post, but here's my final analysis! Robin Williams - The sad clown. As over-exposed as he was in his day, his tragic end forever paints his work in sadness. So let it be said that he was always good at being vulnerable and improvising on the fly, whether he was th...

Wow, awesome to finally have the list altogether! Will have my reflections on the top 20 after the Fourth of July is over. Haven't read everyone's ballot yet, but surprised to see Paulette Goddard ranked so high in the overall poll as I would have guessed I'd be the only who voted for her.

Without spoiling my ballot, I was actually surprised at how high Michelle Pfeiffer ranked on my list. She really has an incredibly large range to play drama and comedy in addition to her still stunning looks. I hope Murder on the Orient Express proves a good showcase for her and the rest of that inc...

Oh yeah, I was trying to wonder who we had missed but yeah those two haven't been spotted yet. Raging Bull is one of Scorsese's weaker films for me which means it's still really good. Taxi Driver though was a truly disturbing experience to watch and one of those masterpieces which succeeds because i...

Oh boy, 3 of my top 6 made it to the top 20! That's where Hepburn and Day-Lewis went, knew they would be here someplace. Nurtured a hope that Jack Lemmon would make the top ten, but 12 is just as good for someone who never was a public giant. As for Jimmy and Cary though... Gene Hackman - The defini...

Another round of hot takes! Jim Carrey - Who would have thought that the hyper-comedian could be so capable of such quiet dramatic turns as well? Carrey's go-for-broke nature may create at times, but that innate need to perform and the fear of ostracization that drives it animates all of his work, b...

Shame. Without spoiling too much, he placed on my ballot. Though there is an argument to be made that he was more of stage actor than a film one.
Also, a bunch of my favorites placed in the top 50! Expect that write-up sooner than later.

True, Groucho needed the support. I'll have to check out Going Places and The Piano Teacher, the latter I've heard quite good things about. Yeah, shame about the lack of women. Then again, I could see this coming from my ballot as I generally put more obscure actresses near the top than actors. Now ...

I see we have a bit of a Birdman pile-up there. Also, yay Naomi Watts nearly made the top 50! Yeah, I only mentioned Rita Hayworth and Cyd Charisse based on their dancing skills. Rita was fine at acting - Gilda wouldn't have been the same without her - but Cyd wasn't that good of an actress, to be k...

Yes Ginger! I had an inkling she might be ranked around here when there was mention of a classic actress being at #58 on the strength of one vote. So far, 8 of my actors have placed on the list. As for Ginger being the best dancing partner, it depends what you're looking for. I think Hayworth was th...

Quick edit but Peter O'Toole accidentally has Diane Keaton's dates. His are (1932-2013), though being 16 in Lawrence of Arabia would be quite the feat. Gah! Just wrote a super-long post about each of the actors that got munched up by me being auto-logged out. Ah, the joys of forum-posting... Anyway ...

Re: TSPDT Series, #91
Finally found some time to post thoughts! Not sure what the policy on spoilers are for these kind of threads (and this film in particular where I feel everyone knows how it goes), so I'll just put *SPOILERS* up here as a warning. I also gave it a 9 myself. While an incredibly entertaining film, I ad...

Re: AMF All Time Actors/Actresses Poll (2017): Voting Thread
Hi everybody! One of my film school friends who posts here turned me onto this thread and asked if I wanted to vote in it. Hope nobody minds! Excited to see the results since my last attempt at a greatest all-time actors result ended inconclusively. I think I got a list together, but it's really tou...
