The way the synopsis is written and the fact they state "From Mott The Hoople..." seems to me that they do mean the Mott the Hoople version. If they meant the Bowie version they could've also said 'From (or 'appears on') Best of '69/'74'. But on the other hand, they do mention his '74 live album, so...
