OK Computer.

Once top ten all time for me, now more like 300, but better than Dark Side.

Even if some of the memorable things about the album start to come off as gimmicky after a decade or two.

Best Moderately Acclaimed Album of 2019 - Voting

This is the voting/discussion thread for Best Moderately Acclaimed Album of 2019. The way it works is, you have all of January to listen to as many of the nominations as possible then rank all of the ones you heard from best to worst. Winners will be calculated through a win/loss formula, so leaving...

Kanye is the most polarizing artist on this forum. If you run the game by American Idol rules (Least votes is eliminated), I’d expect him to win. By Survivor rules I’d expect him first out.

One other option. For the yearly decade polls keep the current cycle, but have another single ballot 10s polls in 2020.

Have the single ballot poll in 2020 alongside the 79s poll then have the year by year poll in 2023 when we’ve all fully digested the 10s.

I came to a realization today that a lot of my favorite bands that aren’t other people’s favorite bands (Tom Waits, Magnetic Fields, The National, etc) have a big thing in common. The Colin Stetson album I nominated for BMAA will be very high on mine.

Plus five or six other jazz albums from names like Ambrose Akinmusire or Jenny Scheinman.

I won’t have that much hip hop on mine but TPAB is a #1 contender. Maybe only seriously competing with High Violet and Eye Contact.
