Re: Favorite Books

http://thegreatestbooks.org/ was already mentioned here:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1035#p10775

As I said there, it has one big problem: it's almost exclusively based on english language sources. So, doesn't stand anywhere near TSPDT / AMF scope-wise.

The Chvrches one was not eligible, being released outside the time frame taken into account. It will be in contention next year. These New Puritans omission is the most curious.

Re: Songs of 2013?

For me Get Lucky is the silliest song of the year. And the fact that you can't turn your head these days without hearing it at every corner makes it even more annoying. For fuck's sake, if Liam freakin Gallagher says about your song that he could have written it in an hour ... then you've hit the bo...

Re: Equivalent site for books or video games?

I'm also looking for a book equivalent for TSPDT / AM but haven't found anything. There are several reliable best of lists / polls from writers / critics and I'm using those for book recommendations (as long as nobody compiled them yet). In fact there is a compilation but is based mostly on english ...

Re: Favorite Books

My relationship with literature is also longer that the one with music (and film). That's because Literature was studied ever-since primary school (which can't be said about the other 2). However, I discovered it as an art form and fell in love with it only after I finished school. Until then, I rea...

Vampire Weekend - Step http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mDxcDjg9P4 " Vampire Weekend feel, uncannily, unstuck in time. Re: Rolling Stone Adds 14 New Immortals

RS always was the U.S. equivalent of Q, so while some may not love it, in terms of music criticism/a publication, it's THE one. It is what it is. Both RS & Q magazines lean heavily to the commercial / popular ("for dummies" to be more specific) side of music criticism. If I saw Mojo or Uncut champi...

Beach House (Teen Dream 2010 / Bloom 2012). Which is OK with me. Still, the fact tha...
