Fantastic Poll, and great words! I'm surprised at the Number 1, but glad it wasn't Pulp Fiction, to be honest. My Top 10 not included in the list: All About Eve (I'm so devastated I didn't get to nominate this) The Rocky Horror Picture Show Pan's Labyrinth (How!?) Hot Fuzz Juliet of the Spirits Hero...

I'm devastated that Pan's Labyrinth didn't make the latest film poll. I hope to correct this next time around. This is a really weird year now that I take a closer look at it. I'm so glad this has turned up on this project Rob, as Anarchy (with God Save the Queen) is the first song on the AM list where I have always questioned why on earth it so high. In the end, the artist must be capable of directing his audience's mind. I think if we all watch Annie Hall together, with the same attention, scene for scene we will more or less come up with similar interpretations. This is something I've even tried for a few movies. Hence my claim that art is ob...

They're both pop culture icons in America. Without the iconic recordings of those two, I honestly doubt rock music would be the same. Yeah, this is why I assumed they were included in the list. At the same time, if another country starts a registry like this, will they have to include these acts al...

I'm glad they don't let (m)any duplicates to be included to be honest, at least for a while longer. It allows the chance for a decent slice of American audio history to be preserved, not just a collection of recordings by the same popular acts.
