Re: Forum Poll: The AM Top Songs of All Time (2012 edition)

Songs are more difficult to rank than albums. First, there's probably at least 6000 songs that I consider 4-5 star songs compared to maybe 100-150 albums. Which is the main reason why I limited myself to the two master lists (AM 3000 and RYM 3000). Second, it's a lot more difficult comparing a jazz ...

What do you think about 10 questions per game next season? Also, I think you might have been thinking that the time was based on when the game actually started? Ties could be broken by the amount of time taken to answer next season.

It has complex elements, but as a story it feels very simple.... and while that might hold up as a nostalgic favorite, when choosing the best of all-time I'd prefer to choose films that told a story in a way that no other could, with images that really stick with a viewer. Citizen Kane is a film geek movie, for people who enjoy watching movies and don't get into what the movie actually achieved, it's just a good movie. Prog and classic rock get a huge bump from Guitar Hero and Rock Band as well. I think it's more likely that a person aged 18-30 has heard a classic rock song like Tom Sawyer over the past 5 years than an old Madonna song.
