I have to agree that Elvis hasn't aged well but it's due to my opinion that the little known artists he emulated grew in recognition over the years and Elvis just doesn't seem like the leader of even 50's rock and roll or even rockabilly let alone the king of all rock and roll because of that.

I love the RYM general charts because of how easy they are to customize. The latest chart that was useful to me was children's music as voted on by US members. Voila, children's music in English that isn't Wiggles or Barney!

I only read user reviews on RYM these days. I still look at metacritic and Pitchfork for ratings, but I never read critic reviews anymore. User reviews are more honest.

It does play out more like the NCAA tournament this way with bands from genres that don't get as much acclaim getting in to face the powerhouses. Maybe we could do a side tournament like the NIT for the bands that were eliminated this round. That might be fun.
