Man it is straight up crazy that Judas Priest and Motorhead aren't already in, and to a lesser extent Thin Lizzy and T. Rex. All classic rock radio staples! These are all artists I would have assumed got in a long time ago.

As much as I love IGOR, Bandana feels like the rap album that will get the most acclaim come year-end time. Eilish’s album is brilliant, but sadly I think it will suffer from the FutureSex/LoveSounds effect. Tons of publications will keep it off their lists just because it’s a megaselling pop album...

It's crazy that Sharon Van Etten fell out of the top ten -- it'll certainly finish higher in the year end critics list (right?). It being one below a forgettable Deerhunter album has looked weird all year to me.

This is a fine list, but it's also evokes no personality -- it's more or less the same list any other critic may have made for the 70s, with a few modifications. I wonder what inspired them to do this now -- and why are no major critics going for all-time lists anymore??
