Poll: Exception to the eligibility rules for Complex?

Can I get a short summary of the different reasonings for each stance?

Over the past 12 months, Complex has been included on metacritic.com, as well as reviews more and more albums on a regular basis.

Here are the criteria for how to determine whether a new source is eligible for the EOY albums spreadsheet:

1. The Alexa.com rank should be less than 1,000,000 and the number of sites linking in should be more than 100. Both these criteria should preferably be met, but if one of the numbers is really strong that might be ok too. Printed magazines that are devoted to music are always eligible.

2. It should be clear that the list was compiled by several people (minimum three) from the staff.

3. The source needs to publish at least 10 album reviews per month, and not just recommendations with a couple of sentences per album.

4. A radio or TV channel is eligible if it is a "main station" of a country (typically a public broadcasting service with a focus on music). The staff team requirement needs to be fulfilled but not the number of reviews.

5. No record stores.

Complex does not fulfill criterion 3. It is, however, one of the biggest music sites and has also presented several best of lists over the years, including top 100 songs by Bob Marley or Kanye West, and the top 100 songs of the Complex era.

With Complex added, do you think it's time to change the rules on list elligibility?

I'm glad Complex is included now. I'm not sure how big of a deal music reviews are for major sites anymore anyway, especially in the age of streaming where one could easily sample a few tracks in the time it would take to read a review. I think FACT, for example, have been phasing them out. Maybe there should be an exclusion from the review number criterion if a site has a certain level of prestige/fame?

Most of the sources that make albums lists also have album reviews. The reviews criterion is actually more important for the songs list. Without the rule, dozens of suspiciously chart-driven songs lists from various websites would be eligible.
