1000 Registered Users are nearing... Celebrations?
1000 Registered Users are nearing... Celebrations?
This may seem like a weird and pretty out of nowhere question, but this forum is coming closer and closer to having 1000 registered users. Does Henrik want to celebrate this pretty impressive achievement in some way on this site when that day arrives? Just a curious question of mine.

A real life cross continental dance party?

Should I re-post my 1,000 favorite songs list?JimmyJazz wrote:This may seem like a weird and pretty out of nowhere question, but this forum is coming closer and closer to having 1000 registered users. With music from the Nicolas and Honorio's international Acclaimed Music band! Perhaps there are forum members interested in joining the band.
Hey, but I hope to have women at the party, eh.

(Sigh), so true... I was hoping to see if any of our French and Spanish AMers could hook me up with some beautiful mademoiselles or señoritas that they may know, but alasBlanco wrote:Hey, but I hope to have women at the party, eh.

Kind of interesting how our forum attracts members of all different ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and countries, but no women.Blanco wrote: Hey, but I hope to have women at the party, eh.
Re: 1000 Registered Users are nearing... Celebrations?
Not to dampen your enthusiasm or anything, but it took about 7 months for the last 100 users to join, so at this rate it'll take 2 years to reach 1000.

Women are generally not list makers.Nick wrote:Kind of interesting how our forum attracts members of all different ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and countries, but no women.Blanco wrote: Hey, but I hope to have women at the party, eh.
Re: 1000 Registered Users are nearing... Celebrations?
No no, they make lists, but other kind of lists. Mmm... It is difficult to discuss these issues without starting to generalize the attitudes of each gender.
Still, rather than assume that women are not interested in the topics discussed in this forum, maybe we should find a way to make them interested. Because maybe the fault is ours. And I do not mean just us on the forum, but also the critics of the music industry, professionals or not. If there were any women in the forum, they would probably have views very different from ours. I'd like that. And maybe we can get to 1000 users in less than a year! Yeah... Any suggestions?

Re: 1000 Registered Users are nearing... Celebrations?
That's definitely an interesting theory, but I've noticed this on other music boards where the focus isn't even about critics/lists. For some reason, women avoid music boards like the plague.Bruce wrote:Women are generally not list makers.Nick wrote:Kind of interesting how our forum attracts members of all different ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and countries, but no women.Blanco wrote: Hey, but I hope to have women at the party, eh.

I just wanted to be one of those ghosts
You thought that you could forget
And then I haunt you via the rear view mirror
On a long drive from the back seat...
