I could be swayed to list it as 1974... while I realize it wasn't "officially" released until 1998, it was recorded and played live in 1973, and a promotional version was distributed no later than 1974:

As the article touches on, it became a regional hit in the Philadelphia area via WMMR (the source of my fandom). Definitely not a "1998" song, in my opinion. But feel free to treat it as you will - that's why I list 20 songs each month...

The article you linked says it was released in 1999. The rare promo was released in 1974, but only to a small number of stations. I had a bootleg 45 of it that I used to play in my DJ days in the early 80s. It certainly is not 1973. Lots of 1974 records were recorded and played live in 1973.

Regarding the Eno album, if it is disqualified, then bump up the rest from there on my list and add Can's Future Days at #15.

Again regarding "Here Come the Warm Jets". I will count votes for the album and its tracks in 1974.

Rather than disqualifying it from 1973, my current intention is to count votes from posters who don't offer alternatives. At present: Brad, Nassim, Miguel, Starringo, Jirin, Listguy.

If Here Come the Warm Jets gets into the Top 15 for 1973 I guess we wouldn't have to vote for it next month then?
To be honest I'd prefer it if it was counted as 1974 - there's a lot of competition for 1973, whereas I think it would be a shoe-in for next month when there aren't quite so many great albums to choose from. Plus there would be an extra space for a great 1973 album to get in the finals.

Even if all votes for Here Come The Warm Jets were removed and other albums bumped one place on ballots, the top 15 would be unchanged.

"Let's Get It On" was my #3 and not far from #1. I was tempted to put it at #1, as my #1-#2 would definitely be the overall top 2, but I didn't. Congrats, New York Dolls fans...

Glad to see "Gimme Danger" get through, sadly it was the only song in my top 5 to do so. I'm rather surprised at the lack of support for "Don't You Worry Bout a Thing".

Yes I like that one too. There seem to be many different opinions when it comes to ranking Stevie Wonder's songs.
