AM Top 50 Artists Immortalized in Coins
AM Top 50 Artists Immortalized in Coins
In the United States, there was a program which ended a few years ago in which Every state was honored with a quarter. They're doing a different program now that honors state parks of something, but I have a better idea: honor the top 50 artists, according to none other than Acclaimed Music. I have those (imaginary) coins. I made them before the update, so I'll have to see which artists have entered and exited the top 50, but in the mean time I will share one coin each day.
Here's the first coin I will share, honoring Led Zeppelin:
I don't really have a lot to say about this one. One thing I will say, in respect to the coins as a whole, is that I tried to stay away from "iconic" pictures of the artists. There were a few where I did go this route, due to necessity or because I really, really loved the picture, but for the most part I steered clear of those.

Yeah, same issue here. Would love to see it as well!
I just wanted to be one of those ghosts
You thought that you could forget
And then I haunt you via the rear view mirror
On a long drive from the back seat...

I think I'll put all of them in a google drive folder and share the link. But that can wait until tomorrow.
Re: AM Top 50 Artists Immortalized in Coins
Ok, this hopefully will work. The folder with all 50 coins can be found here.
If anyone knows which artists I'm missing I'll make them coins as well.

Very nice.
John Coltrane looks a little faded, but otherwise very great pictures, almost makes me wish they were real.
Since you made these before the update, the only new entries would be:
#47: Beck
#48: Lou Reed (Though he was in Velvet Underground)
#49: New Order
So you could make coins for them should you so choose.

Like they'd ever make a coin with that Johnny Cash pic.
Love these though! Great job.

I love the pic too. I just mean the U.S. Mint would never produce coins with Johnny Cash flicking Americans off.Listyguy wrote:The Cash coin is one of my favorites. I love that picture.GucciLittlePiggy wrote:Like they'd ever make a coin with that Johnny Cash pic.

Yes, that is very true. Then again, they'd never make coins honoring most of these artists anyway.GucciLittlePiggy wrote:I love the pic too. Impressive stuff, Listy! I was actually curious how you made these? Was wanting to do the same thing for the Top 50 Directors on TheyShootPicturesDon'tThey, actually.

Thanks for the link Listyguy!
I actually made the last three:
Last Three
Not really happy with how New Order turned out, but it's the best one I could find. If you could remake that one, I'd be okay.
