Due to the tie for 10th place, the top 11 songs from last week's Chart went through to this week's. As acro was speaking of last week, there is definitely a fun to seeing personal nominations through week to week, but I think there's also a fun investment to be had in other songs that come and go on the Chart. I think Michael Kiwanuka's popularity the past few weeks is a very refreshing addition, while Grimes' renewed appearance seems, in a word, expected. Has the Chart become too predictable over these past few years? I'll let this week's newest entrants decide the momentary answer to that question...

Surprised her songs have gotten hardly any traction here given how much people like the album. And surprised this song in particular hasn't gotten more love. It's my favorite by her in the last decade at least

I'll second that Beyonce song. I nominated Hold Up a few weeks back, don't think it made it past one week though.

Hello Setherex. I see that you're popping up every once in awhile here. Really have enjoyed your AMF chart forum for the last couple of years. Any chance that you might be starting it up again? Maybe from scratch? Please say it's so ...

I don't know if this is wrong of me to say, especially because I don't really have a personal stake in this. If there is heavy demand for AMF Chart to start up again, I recommend someone else take up the mantle from Setherex. Just my two cents.

Have we given up on this for good ?

I haven't had the time to vote in this chart in quite a while.

Setherex, I'm sorry but I actually didn't discover your absence until now. Nevertheless I miss you just as much as I missed Otisredding when he disappeared for a couple of weeks a while back. Your work on the AMF chart has been fantastic, you've been on the roll for about 100 weeks! I fully understand if other things have finally taken over your life. I hope they are positive things! In any case, I hope that even if you won't host this chart anymore, you will be back and discuss music with us, about everything from Kanye to ESC.

If Setherex isn't coming back for an update soon, I would be really, really grateful if someone else could take over the chart. I think it's a great way to find out new music and for the forum to get new members.

This is a really long shot and I am pretty sure I am going to lack the time to do this, but until Setherex comes back, I'm willing to give this a go, unless someone objects.
I like this feature too much to let it go.

I would support this, because I really miss this feature as well. (Hope you're doing well, Setherex!). What questions do you have about the rules? I think I have a pretty good grip on everything but some of the more detailed aspects of the nomination process...

I think I am going to give this a go this weekend.
One question that hangs is the inclusion of Otisredding chart tracks every couple of weeks.
The top 10 go through - easy.
But what about the other 10 ? Are they nominations only ?

And does everyone agree that we carry on with the results and noms from week 33 ?
Or do we start afresh with 20 noms ?

Thanks for taking this on. Not sure what you know it don't, but audio to help others here's my (not necessarily complete or correct) understanding of the rules. Think it's top 10 and ties go through, unless track(s) reaching 10 weeks move to hall of fame. Not sure if it's been next 10 excluding hall of fame in past but may be better to just keep at top 10 and put extra nomination through to keep chart more fresh. Seconding nominations I think come first (or rather those 'seconded the most times), then I think it may new entries in latest MCC not otherwise included presumably in order then 1st ordinary nomination per person in order received, then any 2ND nomination in order received etc. Think we should continue with week 33. Maybe in week '34' include new entries from the the 1st mega critic chart since week 33 and each week thereafter until we catch up. Oh and up to 10 votes each.

So this week appeared Stone Roses through to hall of fame (others close so good reason to continue with week 33) The 2 on 5 votes I make 10= so the other 10 with 5 or more votes (I.e. excluding Stone Roses) go through....

Ok maybe not angel Olsen 1st. Though if it is MCC not otherwise nominated (which it may not be but it's what I have in my head) then not sure how they can come before nominations.

Current rules:

It is a weekly chart of 20 songs, where each voter can vote for up to 5 songs.

The top 10 songs (based on the results) will move on to the next week, together with 10 new songs.

For ties at 10th place, songs with fewer weeks on the chart has priority. If there is still a tie, more than 10 songs will advance to the next week's chart.

The new songs are selected in the following order:
1. The most mentioned/acclaimed song from new albums in the Mega-Critic Chart
2. Nominations in the current voting thread, selected in the following order:
2a. The number of nominations of a song
2b. Nomination rank (if someone nominates more than one song)
2c. The time of the nomination

Nominated songs should be less than 6 months old and not have been discovered by many until very recently

Week 44 (December 7, 2014 - December 14, 2014)

New rules for nominations were also established this week, and are planned as long as the EOY song spreadsheet for the year is updated.

1. Songs from new albums on the Megacritic chart
2. Nominations, one per voter
3. The highest placed songs in the current eoy spreadsheet (skipping the 6 months rule)

Those are only versions of rules in main feed. I know of at least 1 other. Max vote increased from 5 to 10. There may be others hidden in the detail of individual weeks. But I suppose as long as we agree on what rules should be by certain time, (particularly how to deal with the complexities of missing weeks) no reason who we can't start again whenever you are ready spiritualized. They have always developed/adapted anyway through time.

In enacting the new 10 votes per user rule for this week, I must acknowledge that this wasn't necessarily an agreed-upon change by everyone, and some others in fact even had more suggestions to give towards improving the chart (such as Otis and luney). I just wanted to be clear that you are all not being ignored, I just feel that one change at a time would be a steadier way of moderating whether our proposed changes are garnering positive reception or just dragging things into the ground. As we see how this one is received, then perhaps we'll go forward with looking into more improvements.

One rule that I notice wasn't really followed was one nomination per forum user. I think it became nominations are free, but second nominations for a single user are taken into account if not enough noms to make up the top 20, which seemed unlikely anyway.

No limit on number of songs from the Megacritic Chart ?
Last update has 7 new albums.... doesn't leave much room for nominations. Bound to increase as the Mcch list increases as well...
