The one vote rule looks like it may have been temporary for time of EOY 2014.

Week 44 (December 7, 2014 - December 14, 2014)

New rules for nominations were also established this week, and are planned as long as the EOY song spreadsheet for the year is updated.

1. Songs from new albums on the Megacritic chart
2. Nominations, one per voter
3. The highest placed songs in the current eoy spreadsheet (skipping the 6 months rule)
These rules were only used for a short time, not for the 2015 eoy spreadsheet if I remember correctly.

I know that 10 number of weeks on the chart were agreed on in the past, but in retrospect does anyone else feel it's superfluous to vote for the same songs (usually by long-time acclaimed artists) more than 5 weeks in a row, and that it would make the chart more interesting if there was room for more new songs instead? I admit I lost interest a bit after a while because whenever I nominated a song that wasn't by an established artist, it didn't have a chance to break into the top 10.

Last update has 7 new albums.... doesn't leave much room for nominations. Bound to increase as the Mcch list increases as well...
We'll see....
I think Otisredding always expand the list by 5 albums, so on average 5 new albums. And MCC only updates every other week.

Agreed Henrik. 10 weeks feels very long. I'll try with the 5 week rule unless there is a resounding uproar against it, this is the time to try new rules...

Thanks for taking the reins Spiritualized! I do miss Setherex and the work he did here. Hope all is well with him. I'm happy with any configuration of the rules that you use. Just excited to be turned on to new recommended tunes again. You Da Man!

I'm thinking that maybe we split the difference here to 8 weeks. I think that 5 weeks is a little short. I like to listen to the full chart every week and I know that sometimes the more I listen to certain tracks the more I pick up nuances that I didn't hear in earlier listens and the track grows on me. Just my two cents. Thanks
