Just a question though, how is "biggest fan" determined? It appears to be based on whoever put the song in their top 20, but I put "Want You Back" in my top 20 and I'm not listed among the fans.

EDIT: actually it looks like you went by top 15 as opposed to top 20, and as I placed "Want You Back" at number 16 on my list, that would explain why I wasn't listed among the biggest fans.

Would have been better to also post the youtube videos of the songs that actually made it to the top 100 (several of which I am not familiar with) or a Spotify playlist in every 10 songs. Nevertheless, great start.

I'm strangly proud that I almost solitary put a german language song in the top 100

Of my own list, 4 have appeared. Of those, I never expected Lucid to make it, so that's nice. For some reason I thought Mystery of Love and Pa'lante were on a lot of lists, but apparently not.

There were some great additions to the top 100 in the last song spreadsheet update. I would have voted for Undercover for sure if I had heard it before - glad it did so well here. Imagining My Man by Aldous Harding also probably would have made my list and Deathless by Ibeyi would have had a chance.

I just wanna say that the gif. addition to the posts is absolutely awesome!

Whenever we get towards the end of a forum poll unveiling, I try and list out all the remaining songs/albums/artists. I've got 18 of the top 20 figured out, but those last 2 are giving me a bit of trouble. Excited to see what they are!

So, so happy with a top 20 placement for "Holding On". And the 2 songs I couldn't figure out ("In Undertow" and "Star Roving") have both appeared, so I've got this top 10 figured out. Well, except for the whole placement thing...

Alvvays, Slowdive, and CRJ making the top 20 is great. I love our lack of correlation with the critics this year (though I'm not sure that will be the case on the albums side).

After seeing the above posts, I was curious to see which voter has the least of their top 10 songs in the top 100 so far. I think there were 38 voters, and I noticed only 37 different top 10 "fans." I was saddened to see sonofsamiam was the only voter who didn't yet have a top 10 song from their list. Typically, I try to listen to everybody's top 10 or so, but I just didn't have time this year. I wish I had, as there are usually a few songs on his list that become personal favorites. Since I love left-field choices, I really miss voters like Mindrocker, NJ and others, who always helped push a few unconventional gems into any countdown. There are a lot of great songs on the list, but I knew every one of these in advance, and that used to not be the case. I often wonder how different our final list would look if we all had time to listen to the top of everyone's list. (I think it really caught my attention when I noticed the tons of #1 songs that didn't even make the countdown. I found that quite depressing.)

Watching James Murphy perform gives me anxiety, I’ve realized. It’s like a Thom Yorke “what is he doing with his body” kind of deal.

Pretty cool how a 13 minute long spiritual jazz song like "Truth" was popular enough to make our top ten. Just goes to show how awesome this community is.

Truth at number 6 is the best! I had no idea it was going to be that high.

Green Light came so close. Awesome run from 7-2 (I’m coming around to Humble, but I really love those ones). I much prefer this list to the critics, especially near the top, and I’m excited to check out some of the lower ones I haven’t heard.

Actually my number one was a woman

I would have voted Green Light very high. I think it's one of the best songs of the year, but I don't place the full album as high as other people do. Humble is on the long list of songs I think is a good song but don't think it's nearly the best on the album, I think DNA is much better. Can't complain too much about the result.

Great year overall with both a Kendrick Lamar album and the holy 00s indie trinity of National/St Vincent/LCD Soundsystem all releasing great albums.

I also didn't vote, but my top 3 probably would have been "DNA," "Green Light," and "How Do You Sleep" (probably in that order but I'm not positive).

I also don't get the appeal of "Humble" as the best song of Damn. It's great, but I personally feel like "DNA" runs circles around it.

Thanks for the presentation, notbrianeno! (I love the GIFs - they were absolutely perfect.) Although I like all of the top 10 to varying degrees, the only two songs I truly love are "Truth" and "Los Ageless." Still, I feel much more connected with the AM choices than the critics', and that's a trend that seems to deepen every year.
