Planning for Overlooked Songs 3

Post by BleuPanda »

I know I still have some film forum stuff I need to do (ahhhhhhhh), but I do want to bring this back soon as well - though after some of these other forum games are done.

My plan this year is to prepare for our incoming End of Decade forum polls. So, this will likely be "Overlooked Songs: 2010s Edition."

I think these will be the rules:
1. Each year between 2010 and 2018 gets 14 songs; two lucky years will get a fifteenth to reach 128
2. All songs must be ranked below a certain rank on acclaimed music (I'm thinking outside the top 50 for its year while still being either ranked or bubbling)
3. Each user would be limited to one song per year and per band

Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions? I know I want to at least wait until the 2018 top 50 solidifies. Unfortunately 2019 can't be covered since we'll likely be doing a decade poll soon after the EOY 2019 lists come out.

If there's time, I might also consider doing a Best of the B-Sides 2010s Edition after (because how does The Age of Adz have only one song on Acclaimed Music?).

So, this was kinda forgotten. But with a site update slated for this summer, we should definitely bring this back.

I’m very down, I think this sounds like a lot of fun.

Yes, I can plan to run this as soon as the site update happens - or sooner? How much do we expect the top 50 for each year to change?
