Anyway, choruses are brilliant, right? Who's with me in having a choruses poll?
EDIT: Since this initial post, the rules of the poll have been put up for discussion and are as follows:
1) Participants are allowed a minimum of 20 selections and a maximum of 200. Any alternative suggestions to the lower and upper limits of the allotted amounts will be adopted as long as they meet with more votes of consent than of dissent.
2) In spite of the name, this poll is to rank the songs that contain the best choruses, rather than to rank the individual separate choruses within the songs, so a selection for a song will be considered as one for all of its choruses. This is so we don't have a face-off between Smells Like Teen Spirit's 1st chorus and SLTS chorus 2, for example.
This is not to say you can't signal your favourite individual chorus within a track- I definitely will be doing so thusly, "A Song For You [2nd Chorus]"- but it won't have any effect on the results beyond your choice of song.
3) Most choices will be accepted as valid but I ask that any cases that you're unsure of their eligibility be referred to the thread before submitting as part of your list. Instrumentals/wordless tracks will of course be disqualified outright but non-verbal choruses in otherwise verbal songs are welcomed (e.g. Wake Up, Land of a Thousand Dances). Instrumental sections where the chorus logically would appear will be not treated as choruses but decisions to this end can be overturned on appeal if argued convincingly enough.
4) For admin purposes, Honorio has agreed to oversee the calculation of the results, for which I'm massively grateful, and I will be responsible for the rollout of the results. Please direct any relevant queries accordingly.
5) The deadline is 23:59 on 21st August AM Forum time.
Any questions on the above, please ask. Otherwise, happy polling!
PS Please excuse the time lapse between the opening of the poll and this edited post. I'd typed all this out, then lost internet connection for a few hours
