3 . Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take Five
"Take Five" is a jazz standard composed by Paul Desmond and originally recorded by the Dave Brubeck Quartet at Columbia Records' 30th Street Studio in New York City on July 1, 1959 for their album Time Out. Two years later it became a hit and the biggest-selling jazz single ever. Revived since in numerous movie and television soundtracks, the piece still receives significant radio airplay. (Wikipedia)

2 . Dick Dale - Misirlou
"Misirlou" is a folk song from the Eastern Mediterranean region. It gained worldwide popularity through Dick Dale's 1962 American surf rock version, originally titled "Miserlou", which popularized the song in Western popular culture; Dale's version was influenced by an earlier Arabic folk version played with an oud. Various versions have since been recorded, mostly based on Dale's version, including other surf and rock versions by bands such as the Beach Boys, the Ventures, and the Trashmen, as well as international orchestral easy listening (exotica) versions by musicians such as Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman. 1 . Booker T. & MG's - Green Onions
"Green Onions" is an instrumental composition recorded in 1962 by Booker T. & the M.G.'s. Described as "one of the most popular instrumental rock and soul songs ever", the tune is a twelve-bar blues with a rippling Hammond M3 organ line by Booker T. Jones that he wrote when he was 17, although the actual recording was largely improvised in the studio. The track was originally issued in May 1962 on the Volt label (a subsidiary of Stax Records) as the B-side of "Behave Yourself" on Volt 102; it was quickly reissued in August 1962 as the A-side of Stax 127, and it also appeared on the album Green Onions that same year. The organ sound of the song became a feature of the "Memphis soul sound" (Wikipedia)

Playlist above and as usual I can't make it appear like a playlist! :( What I have done is included at the end the songs that qualified by way of points but were deemed ineligible (Rock and Roll Part II, Alone in Kyoto, Midnight in a Perfect World, Clair de Lune, Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Giorgio by Moroder, Honkin' at Midnight, Golden Arrow).

The list itself was brimming with eclecticism, thanks for being in charge of it, Panam!

Making this list was very tedious. I went through a lot of health problems and then I had problems with my PC. I lost my temper and then, as you told me, I had problems taking the individual lists so I had to redo it. But on the other hand, I learned a lot and now I am more familiar with this and even how to upload things in the forum. Thanks to all who participated. I share the excel file. I hope The Instrumental List will come back in next years. Probably with somebody else doing it, who knows..
