Actually according to RYM it's from 1990. (I thought earlier it's from 1991.)

Edit. Anyway I'm not sure if that childhood favorite is top 15 material anymore. I can vote for It Must Have Been Love by Roxette another childhood favorite instead. ;)

You're right Petri, I saw the single was out in 1991 and didn't dig as deep as you... My bad :D

But anyway if someone votes for it as 1991 I will accept it that way. It's too late in the month and lots of people have already voted so we'll consider that Civil War is 1991.

@Chris K : Temple Of the Dog is 1991 according to RYM

Also, "there She Goes" was released in 1988.

So you can add 1 album and 2 songs to your lists if you like

This was an absolutely killer year for songs, especially with some great eligible tracks from 1991 albums like "Soon" and "Loaded." Albums are much weaker, though I did like quite a few that didn't make the cut on this list.

I noticed "Vapour Trail" only has 6 votes, but all of them are number 1's or number 2's. I wonder if something like that's ever happened before in one of our polls.

Wow, Vapour Trail is indeed seriously awesome. Add it in third place for me please nicolas; it'll screw up Jackson's observation that it only has first and second places, but I'm sure he won't mind. The rest of the album isn't that great, so my albums list won't change.

Sorry nicolas but I haven't found the time to listen again to the songs and albums on the list I posted back in 2007 and (what's even sadder) I haven't listened the albums and songs of the other voters. That's a thing I deeply regret because that's something I truly enjoyed on past editions.
So I'm going to post my old list without any edit or update. Please, nicolas, feel free about using it or not, I won't complain if you don't use it. Some of these choices are now non eligible (particularly my #1 song, "There She Goes" or the Goran Bregovic choices).

Elvis was a hero to most
But that’s beside the point
A black man taught him how to sing
And then he was crowned king

The pelvis of elvis
Too dangerous for the masses

They cleaned him up and sent him to vegas
Now the masses are his slave

from another 1990 song ("Elvis Is Dead" by Living Colour)
I prefer those lyrics (as a fan of early Elvis).

Very surprised to see The Scene show up. I've heard a couple songs off the album and they're pretty good so I'll have to check that one out.

Puta! It looks like my #2 album of 1990 (Paco Ibáñez's Por una canción) narrowly missed out on being the non US/UK album to go through. Oh well, such is life. Better luck next time. I'll give The Scene a spin for the finals in December.

Very please with the results except for Fugazi missing the albums list. If I had known Welcome to the Terrordome would have just missed like that, I would have voted for it to give PE some representation.

Yes, The Scene got 40 points from antonius and 6 from Andre, while Paco got 40 from you and 1 from Miguel.
Nusrat got 4 votes and 32 points.
