Honestly this proves my theory. The more recent the year the less ranked it will be. Now while I agree that 2014 sucked, the 2010s was a fantastic decade for music but I will say that wont start being noted by critics until the 2030s. By the 2030s, the 60s and 70s will start to decline in acclaim because most critics alive during that time will be outnumbered by those younger, the 90s will likely be the most praised decade or one of them (rightfully so) and the 00s and 10s will see a rise in acclaim.

Diving deeper some genres in the 2010s will be praised and forgotten by the 2030s. Kendrick and Kanye may be praised now but will be challenged once more artists now seen as average get better praise. Artists like Post Malone and Travis Scott will be most certanly remembered as the greats of the pop trap movement of the late 2010s while Cardi B and Lil Pump will likely be forgotten. While on the topic of hip hop, artists that die young such as Lil Peep, XXXTENTACION, and Juice WRLD may see a dip in popularity in the 2020s but will likely continue to build a cult following in the same sense that Joy Division has, leading to much more critical praise. Much of the indie rock group s from the early 2010s will likely see a resurgence as well as soon as the late 2020s.
