Keep your randomiser doing whatever it's doing, Rob! Amazing stuff in this lot.

452. Loreen - Euphoria - 5
453. Animotion - Obsession - 8

I think I remember listening to this for the 1984 poll and bouncing off it. No idea why, I really like it today!
454. M83 – Run into Flowers - 7
Overwhelming in a way. Sinking into a pool made of synths.
455. Keiichi Suzuki & Hirokazu Tanaka - Inakunarinasai (A.k.a. Pokey Means Business*) - 6
Might be a grower. Lots of retro soundtracks nowdays that I enjoy were really influenced by Earthbound's music.
456. World Party – Take It Up - 7
Reminds me a bit of the New Radicals in the chorus
457. Gorillaz – Rhinestone Eyes - 10
Eternally disappointed the music video never got finished
458. Georges Brassens - Marinette - 8
Love this guy's voice
459. The Alarm – Sixty Eight Guns - 9
Appropriate for the nominator. Love this.
460. The Velvet Underground – Lisa Says - 6
461. The Hotelier – Your Deep Rest - 7

A spiritual successor to the All-American Rejects? Sure, why not
462. The Human League - Marianne - 5
463. Peter Brötzmann – Machine Gun - 3
464. Opeth - Windowpane - 6
465. Funkadelic – I’ll Bet You - 4
466. Mourn – Your Brain Is Made of Candy - 5

Thin Lizzy - Emerald: 8
Fantasy themed lyrics ran amok during the seventies, but Thin Lizzy always seemed to urban to go for these. Still here we are. Not that this song is about the words, as most of it is instrumental. It is another good showcase for what Thin Lizzy did best: rock out!

The guitar work is very good on this song. But, the other aspects of the song leave me a bit less satisfied.

Eva Cassidy - Songbird: 5
Pick on of the most soft songs by one of the most soft rock bands in the world and make it even softer. Oddly enough, it is actually an improvement over the least engaging song from Rumors, but it is such a polished, clean song that I find it hard to really care.

I called Zombeels forgotten a few days ago, but you can’t keep a zombie in his grave. He returns with a song by Yes, a band known for ultra-long songs, but this time appear with a track of only 1:21 in length.

469. Yes – White Car*
Year: 1980
Album: Drama
Biggest Fan: Zombeels (#895)
* On Spotify the song is called Man in a White Car, but everywhere else it is known simply as White Car

Just not much of anything here. I much prefer "Into the Lens" from the same album.

Yes – White Car: 4

On the album, which I have not heard, this song seems to form a bridge between two much longer songs. At least it feels like a bridge song. Maybe it works in context, but as a standalone song there isn't much to find here.

468. Eva Cassidy - Songbird: 2

Two extremes here for me - my favourite type of music vs. my least favourite!

When I worked in a record store in the burbs, I would have to play a LOT of Eva Cassidy. Not a high point in my career...

Wow a Kinks soundalike. With these modern bands and their weird names I never know which name is the band and which is the name of the song.

The Offspring – You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid: 7
I never knew that The Offspring had hits all the way into the late 2000's. They were always an unashamedly juvenile band and not too proud to admit it. Again they manage to handle teenage rebellion with energy and without being annoying. They should have been too old for that by then, but apparently they remained young at heart.

The Skygreen Leopards – Inland Towns: 5
There is indeed a sort of Kinks vibe going on here, but it almost makes the song seem lesser, as it gives me the feeling that this thing has been done much better before.

Very solid soul. Doesn't make optimal use of Peebles' unique vocals, but it flows nicely.

Fludd – Turned 21: 6

Even in 1971 they were still making breezy sixties songs. This goes down easy on clear spring days like this, but whether it will truly stick in the mind remains to be seen.

I think I haven't voted since the first month (did I even vote back then) but as I'm starting my 7th week of confinement, I guess that's a good way to kill time.

I guess 7 will be my go to grade as it's the grade for songs I like but don't love, and I trust the forum's taste to prevent me from going below that too often.
Basically :
10 : favorite songs, top 500 of all time or so
9 : songs I love
8 : songs I really like
6-7 : songs I enjoy
5 : songs that leave me no good or bad impression, I don't find it bad but am not enjoying it much
1 to 4 : songs I think are actively bad

455. Keiichi Suzuki & Hirokazu Tanaka - Inakunarinasai (A.k.a. Pokey Means Business*) : 6 (Earthbound has been in my list of games I need to play for a loooong time now)
456. World Party – Take It Up : 7
457. Gorillaz - Rhinestone Eyes : 9
458. Georges Brassens - Marinette
459. The Alarm - Sixty Eight Guns : 5
460. The Velvet Underground - Lisa Says : 6 (Candy > Stephanie > Lisa)
461. The Hotelier - Your Deep Rest : 9
462. The Human League - Marianne : 6
463. Peter Brötzmann – Machine Gun : 7 (probably would have given it a different grade 2 years ago ! Today is actually our 2 year anniversary with my girlfriend, and she used to work for a music collective that focuses on experimental and improvised music, and believe me a lot of it doesn't have the payoff and actually followable parts of Machine Gun)
464. Opeth - Windowpane : 6 (If there is one epithete I run from in music, it's "progressive". But if I have too, Opeth is on the tolerable side of the spectrum)
465. Funkadelic - I'll Bet You: 8
466. Mourn – Your Brain Is Made of Candy: 9
467. Thin Lizzy - Emerald: 6
468. Eva Cassidy - Songbird: 4
469. Yes – White Car: 5
470. The Offspring – You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid: 6 (did they steal the pre-chorus from Time is Running Out by Muse ? The drums at the very least ? )
471. The Skygreen Leopards – Inland Towns: 7
472. Ann Peebles – A Love Vibration: 7

I could say a lot about this song and album, but I'll be brief. I think it's really cool, it's got so many layers and like many songs on Spirit Phone has a wonderful story embedded in it.

Lemon Demon – Touch-Tone Telephone: 8

I never knew music upmasher Neil Ciceirega also had a band. It has an odd sound, as if it is rather tackily produced. Can't really explain it better than that. On that note alone I can't compare it much with Bohemian Rhapsody. That it gets a very good score regardless comes because it just is a lot of fun. The exuberance in the vocals, the sarcastic self-aggrandizing in the lyrics and the overall good vibes, it all forms something that is too lively to ignore.
