Save Stereogum

Post by Nassim »

Stereogum is launching a crowdfunding campaign to stay afloat after losing a lot of money during the covid crisis (concerts and festivals are usually their biggest source of paid advertising).
The indiegogo campaign they launch is based around a compilation of covers by an impressive list of artists, including Benjamin Gibbard, Car Seat Headrest, Dirty Projectors, El-P, Hamilton Leithauser, Julien Baker, Mac Demarco, PUP, Sharon Van Etten, The National, The New Pornographers, Waxahatchee and more, that in theory will never be available anywhere else.

Stereogum is one of my favorite music websites, probably the one providing my favorite lists with Treble and Beats Per Minute, but also the source of some great pieces of writing (the ongoing serie "The Number Ones" talking about all the songs that made it #1 on the billboard 100 since 1958, is particularly great) and one of the few places where the comment section is almost as nice as on AM, so hopefully they can keep going on !

I've just bought the album, it's a strong lineup- just over £20 off the donations target now by the looks of things!

I love that site and I comment there all the time, so of course I chipped in for the album. Really pleased how well the fundraiser's doing! They look set to hit their goal in just a couple of days!
