For this week - Nominations are closed !

Seconded, love that cover.
I know right! I first heard Joe Strummer's solo version on the radio just after he passed and was floored! Years later heard this...

Both versions are good but the duet with the 'Man In Black', became my favourite version overall.

RIP to two legends.

One of my favourite concert memories was watching Joe Strummer and the Mescalaros play a small stage at The Big Day Out in Auckland years ago. I just remember strolling by and hearing those opening chords and then hearing that distinctive voice! They played a good set too. Good times!

AKA - Do What You Like (Unranked)
Melanie Martinez - Play Date (Unranked)

The former, because I still love Indonesia, my nomination for Classics this time given to AKA, an Indonesian Rock band. Because, another Indonesian band, Mocca, with their song, "Simple I Love You", currently meet with 19 other songs at AMF Weekly Chart. The latter, because "Play Date" still popular on TikTok in 2020 although I realize that it was released in 2015, to know more listeners, I'm nominating her too here. Thanks.

Didn’t she have some serious sexual assault allegations against her?

Yes! It was happens in 2017. However, I even realize that in religion rape is categorized as a "criminal" with the threat of whipping 100 times or stoning. I still believe in my religion!

...and yet you're nominating her song anyway? Look, I know all about separating the art from the artist, but those accusations definitely make me uncomfortable with her being nominated here.

Why does being popular matter? We’re not nominating songs just because they’re famous. The song I nominated charted really low in two countries before it became a cult classic and coveted by musicians like Mandy Moore, Hall and Oates, and America. It’s never been popular, but I love it. I feel like you’re missing the point of the game again.

No! Sometimes, if there is a time, I'm nominating songs popularly didn't a Top 40 on Billboard's Hot 100 but became a classic outside their hometown like "Another Day" by Dream Theater, "I Want Out" by Helloween, "Sweet About Me" by Gabriella Cilmi, and other songs. I swear, I still playing on the game!

But you’re not answering my question: are you nominating them because you, personally, enjoy them? As in, you’d casually play them for your own personal enjoyment regardless of whether or not they’ve ever topped the charts? Or are you nominating them because they’re popular?
