I think that the critic might have voted for both, but I'm guessing primarily for the mixtape.

As in an artist like Taylor Swift isn't just on lists dictated by sales/popularity, but doesn't fare well on RYM. Does her appearing on a Pitchfork or Rolling Stones list negatively affect those lists, or is it leveled out by those lists also featuring well regarded artists on RYM.

In short, it’s both... And I hope it’s ok if I don’t go into details of the weighting system. This is just one out of many weighting parameters.

^ One problem with this weighting system might be that it also weakens lists containing releases that are especially obscure/experimental/adventurous. In the excel list I was just working on was one example of this: an experimental electronic album by a Kuwaiti artist with a RYM rating of just 2,80.

Anyway, info for F-G is done! Again, I mentioned all borderline cases in the "Comments" column. Also, I learned that Robert Christgau has given an A+ rating to a Gogol Bordello album...
