I think that is because the results in the lower tiers just feel much more "personal" - you can have 3-4 people who love the album and it is enough to get it on there while no one else has it on their list. These are the ones that mean something just to them, not to the OK Computers where everyone has heard it and it seems like everyone has a story about it.

It is a great album. Most Steely Dan albums seem to be getting less love in the forum. My love for Steely Dan is clearly demonstrated by my Top Fan status for most of their albums. Not sure that folks are interested in listening to them very much these days. Fagen's vocals don't appeal to my adult children.

The presentation of the results has been fantastic. Thanks so much for the effort to get this done.

Not sure if anyone mentioned that the AM Rank for the Al Green album "I'm Still in Love With You" should be 660, not 635.

My understanding is that the Eels album Electro-Shock Blues is ranked at 1752 on the AM top 3000.

Holden, I noticed two mistakes:

- You claim that Zuma's ranking went down, but it went up.
- SZA's Ctrl is from 2017, not 2018.

The last time I checked, this album is Rate Your Music's all-time favorite new age album (but '70s "new age" albums have seemed mislabeled to me, if you're expecting a placid sort of music).

I wasn't aware of that, but I also would never guess that RYM's biggest new age album would be a hit here. When does anyone on this forum refer to new age?

Anyway, very happy to see Ekstasis, Stranger in the Alps, I Speak Because I Can and Let Them Eat Chaos ranking, all who didn't do as well last time (well, Stranger in the Alps didn't exist yet). And I didn't expect a King Gizzard album to appear at all, which is really cool.

The amount of albums that rank this time and not last time seems really high so far. It will go down as we move up to the list I'm sure, but I find it quite exciting to see at the moment.

Just a reminder that once we reach 500, I am cutting down to 50 a day. This is because at 500, I’m going to start adding in extra elements to the list that are going to take longer because of the research involved in finding the elements.

No problem, great job with the updates! A little bit disappointed with Sunflower being this low even though it did better then last time. One of the most underrated albums and the Boys second best after Pet Sounds imo.

Nice surprise to see Gene Clarke's No Other jump so much and getting 13 votes. I added that one to the Moderately Acclaimed game last year and nobody seemed to give a damn about it, so it is nice to see it having some fans after all. Beautiful album.

Also surprised to see Dua Lipa here. I know the album is beloved, but usually in these polls albums of the same year don't make it. I do expect Fetch the Bolt Cutter to show up still, but as an exception. Wonder if one or two others can slip in.

That sounds the best course of action, I don't know how to set up collaborative Spotify playlists, so I'll wait for your post on Sunday. Have to chime in with my approval of No Other, an album that had been on my radar since I'd first got into Dillard & Clark and The Byrds; it did not disappoint when I finally got round to listening to it last year.

Besides FTBC, I would say the other 2020 albums that might have a chance of making it are Perfume Genius's Set My Heart on Fire Immediately and Phoebe Bridgers's Punisher (especially the latter, considering that her debut has already appeared). RTJ4 might also have a shot, but that's less likely. Probably too many Dylan albums out there for Rough and Rowdy Ways to make the top 1000 (this time around).

I agree with the other commentary that this section of the list is usually the most fun as it is all over the place and features lots of albums that are really championed by a few people.

[1000] The Psychedelic Furs - Talk Talk Talk

Yay for the 80s poll for introducing me to this! I need to check out more of their albums.

[998] Tubeway Army - Replicas

So glad this made the top 1000! It's a wonderful example of how synthpop is perfect for future dystopia. Blade Runner 3 years before Blade Runner.

[978] INXS - Kick

A smash hit that has held up really well over the years, I think. I still hear the 4 big singles quite a bit!

[954] Nico - The Marble Index

Glad there is appreciation for this beautifully nightmarish album.

[951] Au Pairs - Playing With a Different Sex

Once again, thanks to the 80s poll for introducing me to this wonderful album! It's got such a unique vibe.

[942] Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic

I'm one of the heathens who prefers 80s Aerosmith to 70s Aerosmith, but this album is tight!

[938] Missy Elliott - Miss E... So Addictive

Missy's creativity is unbelievable. My favorite hip hop artist and my favorite hip hop album. ♥

[935] Prince - Around the World in a Day

Such an important album in Prince's career, it showcased that he would always follow his muse, wherever that led, regardless of career or commercial implications.

[929] The Cure - Faith

The foggy atmosphere of this is wonderfully enthralling. Glad it didn't get lost between two titans in Seventeen Seconds and Pornography, because it's stellar in its own right.

[924] Kate Bush - The Sensual World

It may not be as mind-bending as her early 80s work, but there's an enriching quality to this that I find myself increasingly drawn to.

[917] George Michael - Listen Without Prejudice

Faith is wonderful, but this is masterful, and reveals George Michael as a true artist.

[913] Aaliyah - Aaliyah

Such a breathtaking showcase of all of the things that made Aaliyah so great, and a sad reminder of what the music industry lost with her death. Love you, Baby Girl.

[910] Blondie - Eat to the Beat

My favorite Blondie album! To me, it takes everything that makes Parallel Lines so wonderful and ramps it up to even greater heights. It's a wonderful showcase of their diversity and how they lent pop appeal to many interesting scenes of the late 70s.

[903] The Sound - From the Lions Mouth

A very somber, harrowing listen. It's a shame The Sound aren't as well renowned as other post-punk giants, because they deserve to be. Borland's voice is incredible.

No problem, great job with the updates! A little bit disappointed with Sunflower being this low even though it did better then last time. One of the most underrated albums and the Boys second best after Pet Sounds imo.

Sunflower has always been undervalued in the States. I think the SMILE fallout killed the band for years.

I'm glad two full spanish language albums are in the top: "La Leyenda del Tiempo" and "Siembra", i think they were part the previous version too. But I think surpass the barrier for other latin music (and spanish) albums it'll be very difficult, especially for the classics :/

I predict we can check one or two more full spanish languague albums but will be very recent things, i'll be waiting.
