Hi! I'm going down the 10,000 Songs list, ten songs a day (slow pace, I know!) but today was day three, so I got to David Bowie's "Heroes," and I realized just how amazing his vocal performance on this song is. (Though I don’t know if I’d say it’s my favorite, I’ve got to think on it)
So I was wondering, what is your favorite vocal performance on a song? Not necessarily favorite song, but just what song do you think has the best vocals?

Many to choose from of course, but this one is up there:
Millie Jackson - (If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don’t Want to Be Right

Everyone you meet fights a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.

Favorite male vocal performance :
Favorite female performance :
That's the only Jeff Buckley song I really love, but that's the first thing that comes to mind when I think "great vocal performance".
Favorite female performance :
(Corin, not Carrie... not saying Carrie is bad in there, just that Corin is probably my favorite singer ever)
Re: Best Vocal Performance
Like Nassim, my first thought was Jeff Buckley. There's really no bad choice, but "Grace" does show off his impressive range pretty well.

Re: Best Vocal Performance
I could pick just about any Sam Cooke but this one is my favorite:
I’ve long thought that if we did a best-singers poll he would easily be the top of the list for me.

And Bowie is my favourite voice so I understand your statement.

There's a lot of great ones of course, but the obvious champ is: Nina Hagen Band | Naturträne
Mesmerizing.

Upon thinking about it, I’d say my personal favorite is probably Janelle Monae’s feature on Big Boi’s “Be Still.” I find it absolutely awe inspiring every time I listen to it.

Speaking of Jeff Buckley, his ex Liz in Cocteau Twins Aikea-Guinea, Sighs Smell of Farewell or Frou frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires. Hard to pick just one.
