The great jazz pianist and fusion pioneer Chick Corea, known for his work with Miles Davis as well as with his own group Return to Forever, has passed away at 79, from cancer.

He was fantastic. I remember seeing Return to Forever as a freshman at SUNY at Stony Brook in 1974. A mind-blowing concert.

Do you recall if they played this one? It was on their record from the year before (Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy). The breakdown from about the 4-minute mark to the 7-minute mark is just furiously funky.
