Hmm... "most important" is not necessarily the same as "best." I think I'll hold off on adding this one for a bit, just to see whether they do a ranked best-of a few issues down the road.o.m. wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 5:36 pm Hi Harold, yes I think so to answer your question. I translated their presentation of this particular best of and it goes like this: "A few months from the end of the decade 2010, we have designated the 150 most important records of the past ten years and, through this large file, makes an inventory of major developments in pop." In case they published another EOD list (ordered for example) in their next issues, I'll let you know!
Some sites use "Greatest, Best", "Most Important", etc. It's basically the same for them probablyHarold wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 5:38 pmHmm... "most important" is not necessarily the same as "best." It's just personal interpretation but I agree with Harold- there was a similar Billboard list that listed what they deemed the most memetic songs of the decade or those that the decade would be remembered for, which was rightly considered ineligible.
Nah, it's just us French people wanting a cool name instead of just settling down for "best of", the list is clearly albums Magic like, not albums they felt obliged to include (and even if it was, I'd argue that's still a definition of "acclaimed", who said most acclaimed had to mean best per se ?)mileswide wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 11:29 amIt's just personal interpretation but I agree with Harold- there was a similar Billboard list that listed what they deemed the most memetic songs of the decade or those that the decade would be remembered for, which was rightly considered ineligible.
Plus, Magic referred to their 2019 albums list with the moniker "les meilleurs albums de 2019" rather than "les albums qui ont fait 2019", so it would seem they make the distinction between "best albums" and "most important albums/albums that shaped [year]".
Touché! If the list seems consistent with the site's choices in the past, I retract my reservations about the eligibility without wishing to encourage anyone else to withdraw their misgivings about the same.
I agree with a lot of your opinions Nassim, especially about the tiredness of trap's dominance of US rap, but I'd say that "acclaimed" has to be someone's idea of "the best", even if the song/album isn't designed for critical kudos.
great find , maybe we can search for more lists of this source?lagire wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 5:41 pm In Kiosk,
