Vulture's Ranking of All 74 Led Zeppelin Songs

Lists by single critics or musicians, published in magazines or on websites, have lower priority. The amount of such lists would be impossible to handle.
(However, priority is given to single author lists from books, very famous music critics and artists with albums or songs ranked on Acclaimed Music. Single author lists are also more likely to get priority if they are not limited to a genre or artist.)

1. "Kashmir," Physical Graffiti.

I don't know if this list will count. This is apparently ranked by one guy, Bill Wyman (not the Rolling Stones' bassist, although it would have been cooler if it was him), a self-described culture critic at Al Jazeera America and former arts editor of Salon and NPR. Vulture is the online entertainment destination from the team behind New York Magazine.

As to the list, I chuckle every time somebody tries to rank every song released by a certain artist (see RS' Nirvana list). This one is no different. I have no issues with "Kashmir" as #1 but I disagree with probably half the rankings. "Rock and Roll" and "Black Dog" should be in the Top 10. "Communication Breakdown" and "Going to Califronia", if not Top 10 material, are at least Top 20. The rankings of "Ten Years Gone", "Heartbreaker", "Since I've Been Loving You" and "Thank You" are also way low.

A few things of note:

1. Is anyone else surprised that there are only 74 Led Zeppelin songs??

2. "Hats Off to Roy Harper", despite being at 71, is still way too high. Probably the only Zeppelin song I actively dislike.

3. On the other hand, at number 60, "Since I've Been Loving You" is criminally low. That's top 10-15 Zeppelin material for sure.

Yes, I won't add this list as it's from a single critic. But thanks for sharing anyway.

I should really make a thread with all thinkable inclusion/exclusion criteria. Some day.
