Roadie Crew (Brazil) - 100 Great Albums - Heavy Metal & Classic Rock (2007)

Post by Nowhere Man »

This was their 100th issue special edition, published in 2007 (which, coincidentally, was also the year of the magazine's 10th anniversary), and as such, aside from special articles such as the origins of Heavy Metal, it also included a list of the 100 most influent albums in heavy metal (they put it as "Heavy Metal & Classic Rock" because of the contribution of some classic rock bands for the metal genre as a whole - at least I think that's what it is), and while it only covers a period between 1970s and 1990s, it might be a valuable source. Plus, seeing as it's from the same magazine as this other list, I thought it could serve as a complement.

The link for the issue (of which I own a copy) is here:
https://roadiecrew.com/site-antigo/edic ... tml?id=101
You can only see miniaturized versions of the pages, but most of them are identifiable.

And here's the list, ordered by year (the numbers are just to keep track). Oh, BTW, there's no live albums (that's right, no such thing as Live After Death or No Sleep 'til Hammersmith) or compilations listed, only studio releases:

Hi Nowhere Man!

Thanks! But I posted that one already :P I've posted an indecent amount of RC lists here since many of them were available/decipherable on their website. By the way, it seems it's been down for quite some time now.

Oh, and by the way, the Ted Nugent diss was more of a running joke than anything. I've enjoyed the few bits of music I've listened too.

Oh, OK, thanks for informing.
I usually tend to look at the site's Critics' Lists to see if there's something to be added, especially considering there are some bands on those lists that haven't appeared in AC's radar yet (like Helloween, for example).

I know what you mean. Best way is too used the advanced search button (to the right of the search bar) in the upper right and narrow the search to the "Critics' lists" forum. There are hundreds of lists that have been posted already and which are waiting to be added.

As for Helloween, it's because there's a solid and thick frontier between the alternative rock critics and the classic rock/heavy metal critics nowadays. AM so far gathers mainly lists from the former category, which don't care about Helloween (their loss).
