The most glaring omission here is The Godfather, Part II, but if you read the entry for Part I it almost seems to cover both films. Others that immediately jump out: no Raging Bull, no Sunset Blvd., no Buster Keaton, no Coen brothers.

The 2000s is once again underrated by film critics.

(I'm not talking about the positions of Rings and Batman - they should have been replaced by others IMO)

Weak list. Very US-focused. First non-US film at 17? Are you kidding me?
And I agree that the choices for the films of this century are very poor, especially the first three.

The Dark Knight is the most overrated movie of the century. I completely agree it has no place on this list.

As usual, most of the films mentioned are great films, but has a heavy prejudice in favor of American films and another in favor of big budget films with straightforward narratives.

A decent list but an unchallenging one that seeks to affirm the audience's expectations rather than be inclusive to all varieties of films from all countries with all budgets and lead the audience to films they wouldn't have thought of watching otherwise.

Huge points though for including Empire Strikes Back and not Star Wars.

As Jirin said, most of the films included on this list are not bad choices by any means (albeit many of them are very safe canonical picks), although I can certainly say a few of them definitely do not belong on a list like this IMO (I'm thinking of numbers 24, 52, and 88). There is a ridiculous bias towards American films, with foreign films included for mere token respectability. Furthermore, major directors are not represented at all... Hawks, Minnelli, Sirk, Sternberg, Stroheim, Keaton, Dreyer, Bresson, Tarkovsky, Mizoguchi, Kiarostami, Hou, Kieslowski, the Coens (this was particularly surprising considering the source)... Of course, the magazine is entertainment and celebrity oriented, so what do you expect. It isn't an auterist or serious film magazine. I will say, though, that when non-film specific sources put out lists like these (such as TIME or the Guardian), they are never even as mediocre and half-assed as this list.
