Should AcclaimedMusic have a poll for the best TV shows of all time?
No other comment aside from thread title.

This is an idea that's been tossed around before.
I'm not opposed to it, but nobody has stepped up to host yet.
I think it might happen if enough people are willing.

Will you spread the word.

I would participate for sure.
Some questions:
Are mini-series eligible (stuff like Riget, Berlin Alexanderplatz, Dekalogue, Heimat, Angels in America, Band of Brothers etc. etc.) (I think they should) and are Die Zweite Heimat and Heimat different series or just different seasons of series called Heimat?
What about game shows, reality, talk shows and talent shows (I doubt that those wouldn't succeed in this poll anyway but should they be ineligible at first hand). And what about informational stuff (I guess no one is voting for the tv-news but there are for sure some weekly documentaries that can be treated as a tv-series if we decide to do that. I would keep them out too.)

Same question I had, Petri.
I agree that mini-series should be allowed to join in, since they generally aren't eligible for film polls.

Are you implying that I Love New York, the spin off of Flavor of Love, which was the spin off of Strange Love, which was the spin off of The Surreal Life, might not have a shot at ranking high among AM viwers?Petri wrote:What about game shows, reality, talk shows and talent shows (I doubt that those wouldn't succeed in this poll anyway but should they be ineligible at first hand)

I Love New York is a surrealist comedy classic. Just the mere fact that it exists is an astounding feat, a definitive example of the state of television in the mid-2000s.

I'm fairly interested in including everything, just because I would like to see what would doggedly make its way in amongst the more traditional fare.

I would absolutely welcome this.

The problem with this, in my opinion, is because of the international users. There's different shows in each country, not just in the U.S. and U.K.
I think the only miniseries I know from outside U.S. and U.K. is Berlin Alexanderplatz, Heimat and Dekalog.
