TSPDT Series, #97
Continuing this series with one of the more obscure titles on the TSDPT Top 100
Re: TSPDT Series, #97
A 10/10. One of the absolutely greatest movies ever made. Each time I watch it, I get an epiphany from it. And I've seen it almost ten times. No other movie has ever done that for me. I hope this one does very, very well in the '80s poll.

A perfect 10 from me. About as good as a film can be. I saw it for the first time two years ago and hardly a day doesn't go by that I don't think of it. In fact, even though I saw it way past of what could be considered my formative years of movie-watching, it became a key reference film for me.
It's hard to describe something like Sans Soleil and at the moment I don't have the time. In short: it is perhaps the ultimate movie about watching the world around you, noticing things and reflecting on them. It strikes me as extremely profound, in a way that hardly makes me dare to call another film "profound". If this all sounds perhaps pretentious or unappealing, well, this movie is impossible to grasp is smaller terms. Only Chris Marker could do that.
