Those Yahoo rankings: Baby Driver, The Shape Of Water, Dunkirk, Wonder Woman, It, BR2049 and Logan way too low. Star Wars way too high.

The New Yorker
The Best Movies of 2017
By Richard BrodyDecember 8, 2017

1. “Get Out”
2. “A Quiet Passion”
3. “Good Time”
4. “A Ghost Story”
5. “Slack Bay”
6. “Phantom Thread”
7. “Beach Rats”
8. “Faces Places”
9. “Song to Song”
10. “Sylvio”
11. “Lady Bird”
12. “Columbus”
13. “Hermia & Helena”
14. “On the Beach at Night Alone”
15. “Rat Film”
16. “Strong Island”
17. “The Meyerowitz Stories”
18. “The Son of Joseph”
19. “Hissein Habré, A Chadian Tragedy”
20. “The B-Side”
21. “Félicité”
22. “Dawson City: Frozen Time”
23. “Colossal”
24. “I Called Him Morgan”
25. “The Unknown Girl”
26. “Actor Martinez”
27. “Whose Streets?”
28. “Logan Lucky”
29. “Planetarium”
30. “Marshall”
31. “The Lost City of Z”
32. “Icaros: A Vision”
33. “Mimosas”
34. “Wait for Your Laugh”
35. “The Rape of Recy Taylor”

P.S.: The vagaries of release schedules distort best-of lists, this year in particular. Some of the best new movies I’ve seen—“Zama” (Lucrecia Martel), “Let the Sun Shine In” (Claire Denis), “Madame Hyde” (Serge Bozon), “Did You Wonder Who Fired the Gun?” (Travis Wilkerson), “Golden Exits” (Alex Ross Perry), “Werewolf” (Ashley McKenzie), “The Graduation” (“Le Concours”) (Claire Simon), and “The Four Sisters” (Claude Lanzmann)—won’t be released until next year or don’t have release dates yet at all. But if they were part of the 2017 slate, they’d all be on the list and crowding toward the top.
One of the most noteworthy movies of 2017 is a TV show, “Twin Peaks: The Return,” all eighteen episodes of which were directed by David Lynch and written by Lynch and Mark Frost. The series came in at the No. 1 spot on the Cahiers du Cinéma list, and at No. 2 in the Sight & Sound poll. It’s not on my list, and not only because it’s not a movie but, rather, a TV show that shares some important traits with movies—most significantly, having one director throughout.

2017 is somewhat peculiar because of a lot of polarizing movies like mother!, the new Star Wars film, Downsizing, well only time will tell with these films.

IndieWire
2017 Critics Poll: The Best Films and Performances According to Over 200 Critics
IndieWire's extensive year-end poll found overwhelming support for a handful of movies in major categories, but also singled out some of the less prominent titles worthy of celebration at the end of the year.
Eric Kohn
Dec 19, 2017
source: http://www.indiewire.com/2017/12/best-m ... 201909032/

More than 200 critics and journalists from around the world participated in the eleventh edition of the poll, making it the largest international critics survey of its kind. Participants included leading critics from IndieWire, Time magazine, Variety, and Entertainment Weekly, in addition to film-specific publications such as Cineaste, Cinema Scope and RogerEbert.com. They voted in a dozen categories, encompassing multiple winning films and performances released over the last 12 months, in addition to the best undistributed films and the best films opening next year. Each category included multiple fields, and the results were culled from weighted lists. The best film list asked critics to submit the 10 best films of the year, with the film listed in the number one slot receiving the most weight.

1. “Get Out” (713 points)
2. “Lady Bird” (673 points)
3. “Dunkirk” (549 points)
4. “Phantom Thread” (368 points)
5. “The Florida Project” (348 points)
6. “The Shape of Water” (324 points)
7. “Call Me By Your Name” (312 points)
8. “Personal Shopper” (296 points)
9. “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” (245 points)

Fascinating compilation of lists here, do you intend to compile them in an AM stye? Do you know some sites who do it intelligently, personnally I go to metacritic, you'll find plenty of other lists there...

Get Out is really cleaning up on these lists.

I'm still trying to decide whether this film is a true great masterpiece or just the first of it's kind that have people talking or both.

It's my number 2 film of the year but there's always something that has me wondering is it really that great or just a powerful film with a powerful message.

Great find, now I don't have to manually list them. I don't intend to compile the lists, too much work and U.K. publications include movies from last year like Moonlight to muddle up the results. Metacritic is doing a fine job as it is though I'm surprised that 'Get Out' is on top, I consider it a great film but I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if it even gets a Best Picture Oscar nom.
