No editorializing in the list transcriptions, please! This job is time-consuming enough as it is!

At least these are easy to figure out. A few years ago, it took 15 minutes of searching until I realized that Biffy Clyro didn't actually have an album titled "Embarrassment to Scotland." I wanted to track down and seriously chastise whoever did that...

I hope you forgive me for the slight chuckle, Harold, but you always were the somber part on this side of the internet and I STILL imagine Doctor Egon Spengler sternly lecturing me for bullships like this when I read your nick, and yet who would be so brainwormed to declare Biffy worse than Nazareth or Wet Wet Wet...

If you're going to editorialize, please do so in sentence form at the end of your post, disconnected from the lists themselves, rather than parentheticals that will complicate the volunteer work of our spreadsheet doctors.

Breaking my own let-others-do-the-work rule here, since it's only seven albums. Also, this may only be my own opinion, but excruciatingly gradual list rollouts can go fuck themselves.

The top 3 are usual suspects, but otherwise I love how all-over-the-place this list is, a good mix between unexpected picks and other usual suspects dropping at any place.

Could someone explain the Sun Kil Moon/Mark Kozelek issue? I'm super happy whenever I see his music on the lists, but it seems like I'm the only one.

I'd be stunned if Benji at least didn't feature in our EOD albums (while it won't for me, I will have Richard Ramirez...hovering around my songs list), so you're not alone in this.

In the media, it's the 'the art vs the artist' issue as usual. In the space of just over a year after releasing Benji, Kozelek recorded a song called War on Drugs, Suck My Cock after the band drowned out his set at a festival, announced at a gig that he wanted to see a specific audience member naked and improvised a song calling Pitchfork/Guardian journalist Laura Snapes a bitch.

The backlash to Kozelek's behaviour might have been defended by the media as more justified than in similar circumstances because of his somewhat expositional, stream-of-consciousness style where the line between the person and the musical persona seem thinner. There may have also been shock at the contrast between the above actions with the Weltzschmerz and empathy in his music.

I hope all of that's not too pretentious and you can get some meaning out of it!

It'd be a new word to any German-speakers as well as I used one 'z' too many, scheiße! Hope it made sense anyway with or without knowledge of the gratuitously used German...
