Last time around Billy Joel got a raw deal, when one of his songs appearing here had to be disqualified, because it actually appeared on more than one list! Today it seems he get his revanche with his TRUE second appearance. I may be right in assuming that no one else had this on their list.

568. Billy Joel – You May Be Right
Year: 1980
Album: Glass Houses
Biggest Fan: Henry (#510)

Don’t forget you can always vote for earlier songs or change your vote!

I love Billy Joel (makes sense, since the first of his songs to appear here came from my list). Not my favorite by him, but I’ll give it a 7.

Wadada Leo Smith - John F. Kennedy's New Frontier and the Space Age, 1960: 7
Like a soundtrack to a film that has never been made, regardless of it being inspired by real events. This is epic stuff, but also meandering. Feels like the type of "song" that needs about 10 listens to settle (imagine if that goes for the whole 4 and a half hour album!), but it does have an impressive, cinematic mood from the get-go.

Billy Joel – You May Be Right: 6
It's a fine Billy Joel cut, but with less passion in the delivery than usual.

Billy Joel – You May Be Right

Joel could have stood to rock out more (non-Attila) in his career.

Great to see you back jamieW. I feel guilty about giving Fish such a low score now. I also was thinking that your other self's lists were full of music that I like. Now you are back to your usual self, I expect your enthusiasm for Thai music will return too.

Thanks, Dave! Yes, you were one of the people I was referring to when I said "people who's taste I typically align with," since you've always been someone whose lists seemed closest to mine. (No need to feel guilty, though - I'm alone on an island with that Fish song, unless I want to count Myself.) The good news is my enthusiasm for Thai music will always be present - my wife will make sure of that! :D
