Re: Rhythm Radio
I did not like most of these 1975 records at the time as I was too busy discovering all these great 1950s records. But they sound good now. I hope some of you are taking advantage of this countdown.
Re: Rhythm Radio
New Jersey's own Moments are on right now. The #12 song of the year, a pretty ballad called "Look At Me (I'm In Love)."
Soon after this they became known as Ray, Goodman and Brown.

Re: Rhythm Radio
#11 - The Hustle - Van McCoy
I hated this kind of disco.
I hated this kind of disco.
Re: Rhythm Radio
Good start for the top 10. The Curtis Mayfield written "Let's Do It Again" by the Staple Singers at #10. It's bubbling under the top 6000 here at AM.
Re: Rhythm Radio
# 9 - Fire - The Ohio Players - Known nowadays as the theme song from Gordon Ramsay's show "Hell's Kitchen." Like #10 it's also bubbling under the top 6000 here.
Re: Rhythm Radio
# 8 - Rockin' Chair - Gwen McCrae - pretty good soul dancer. Not listed at AM.
Re: Rhythm Radio
# 7 - Games People Play - Spinners (with Margie Joseph). The title was quickly changed to "They Just Can't Stop It." One of the best R&B records of the year IMO. Surprisingly to me it's not listed at all on AM.
Re: Rhythm Radio
# 6 - Love Won't Let Me Wait - Major Harris - this was humongous at the record store I worked in then. It was flying out the door for 2-3 months. Not listed at AM. Major Harris was formerly in both the Jarmels and the Delfonics.
Re: Rhythm Radio
# 5- This Will Be - Natalie Cole - Used on some matchmaker TV commercial nowadays. Bubbling under the top 6000 on AM.
Re: Rhythm Radio
# 4 - To Each His Own - Faith, Hope And Charity - Not listed on AM.
Re: Rhythm Radio
# 3 - I Belong To You - Love Unlimited - Not listed at AM.
Re: Rhythm Radio
# 2 - Get Down Tonight - KC & the Sunshine Band - White boys from Florida take the black community by storm. Bubbling under the top 6000 on AM.
Re: Rhythm Radio
# 1 for 1975 - Fight The Power - Isley Brothers - great record. And the only record in the top 10 on this countdown that is ranked here at AM - it's #3351.
