There's about two and a half hours left of the day over in Stockholm. I'm not sure if Henrik means end of the day in Sweden or not when he says the update is today. We can only speculate.

Top 500 Albums
24 new albums (including 2013 albums)
Biggest climb into the top 500: Boards of Canada - "Music Has the Right to Children" (from 683)
Henrik wrote: Albums
1. Adele - 21
2. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
3. The Horrors - Primary Colours
4. GZA/Genius - Liquid Swords
5. Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West
So, Music Has the Right to Children is making at least a 183 spot jump yet it's not even in the top five album jumps as listed above. Given Dark Fantasy is now at 220th all time, does that mean it will be jumping to at least 37th all time (220-183=37)? Correct me if I'm wrong, cuz that seems too incredible to be true...
It's based on percent gain, so give the BOC album gained at least 26%, so MBDTF will be at least 162, probably much higher. I'm expecting top 100.
It's almost certain MBDTF won't enter the top 100 this update (though it totally deserves to). Adele's "21" is the highest placement gainer based on percent gain, and that album is moving up 1,235 places. "21" is currently 2,176, which means that its percent gain will be 56.76%. If MBDTF has the same percent gain (which it won't, it will have a slightly lower one) it will end up at 125 on the new update.

Which means that unless Channel Orange drops, MBDTF will be #2 of the decade, not #1.

Personally, I am expecting a slight drop for "Channel Orange". Probably to around 150 or so.

I could definitely see Dark Fantasy being one of the only 10s albums to move up. Albums tend to settle into a deflated ranking after they peak. I distinctly recall the 00's as a decade losing a tremendous amount of ground last update, because the previous update was the decade end lists. Funeral, Is This It, and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot lost 30-something combined positions. I expect something similar to happen to Channel Orange, The Suburbs, Bon Iver etc.

Nick, where are you getting 125 from? A 56% gain from 220 would be 97.

Haha I actually checked the math and made the same mistake as Nick! 44% gain is about 125.

I think really accurately MBDTF will be 96th or worse.

Ahhhh my mistake, Listyguy. I screwed that up. Chalk that up to bad math on my part. I guess MBDTF could enter the top 100 after all.

It's 4:00 pm where I am, so for me there are still eight hours left "today." Please note that Henrik gave us today as an estimate - while I'll certainly be disappointed if I go to sleep tonight with no update, he took pains not to make any explicit promises. I do think it's going to happen, but just wanted to take note of that.

So it's possible, though unlikely. If it got to exactly 100 it would be a 54.5% gain.

Yes, we have another update. And a rather big one. I hope you will like it.

The update is positive for new releases, both albums and songs. I'm sure you have questions about this and other things. I'm going to bed soon, but I will try to answer your questions tomorrow.

I have started a new error page. Please report errors there.

Thank you very much, Craig. This forum has helped me to practice a lot. I know I still have my mistakes, and I still need to practice speaking it, but I hope it is a matter of time. But more than being able to write English better, another thing that the forum has given me, and for which I am very grateful is, above all, friends.
Thank you very much, my friend.

PS. What song do you consider as the best of all time?

You know, for most of the first half of this year, I'd had the songs poll to be in my mind constantly, mentally preparing my list. But come July, as hype for the AM update intensified, my thoughts on the song poll kinda fell by the wayside. But now, with the album poll (which I am in no shape to participate in now) and discussion around here, my excitement for a songs poll is replenishing!
