The only thing I remember is the beginning of the song at the trumpet. A magnificient, long and blazing piece of trumpet. I know it's not much but it's the only thing I remember.

No, they are not. The first is a Gal Costa original, the second is a cover, originally written by Caetano Veloso.

Edit: My bad, it looks like the first wasn't written by Gal either, the writers are Carlos Pinto and Waly Salomão.

Ok Brad, I'm very sorry for taking so long to respond. I've been very busy lately.
I've heard the two songs closely, and although I do not know much Portuguese, (luckily it resembles Spanish), I realized that, yeah, they are not the same song.
It turns out that the first one (from the 1971 Fa-tal album) was written by Waly Salomão, with music from Jards Macalé.

Here are the lyrics:

Presumably you mean 808 State's "Pacific." In that case, the answer would be "Pacific 707." Dissenting opinions exist, but that is the version that appears on the A-side of the single release and is the one that would be played on radio and the once that critics lean on. "Pacific 202" (from the album 90) is rather similar to it but is longer. The original version from the Quadrastate EP is much different than 707 and 202 (more electro and minimal and more obviously influenced by Detroit Techno), but is not brought up as much as 707 though it is certainly worth hearing despite sounding underdeveloped compared to what would follow.

"Pump Up the Volume" is trickier because different versions of it were released in different regions due to issues of sampling clearance. The consensus definitive version would be the original UK 12" single version (it's the one that was a UK hit and it had a greater relevance in that country than elsewhere), but I prefer the A1 track on the US 12" single release. Although I feel less confident about this than for 808 State since I like 808 State much more.

Edit: "Pacific 707" is also that track that leads off 808 State's 808:88:98 compilation. No other mixes of "Pacific" are included on that comp, aside from a new remix of it seemingly recorded specifically for that album. Also, this reminded me that I didn't include 808 State's 90 on my Top 500 albums list. Oh well.
