1. Sufjan Stevens - The Age of Adz vs. Kate Bush - The Dreaming
The Age of odds, the eternal living, when I die I'll rot. But I prefer dreaming of Kate, passing me the key with her kiss.

2. Roy Harper - Stormcock vs. Gil Scott-Heron - Pieces of a Man
Pieces of a one man rock and roll band. The same old rock or the beginning of rap? You know, it will not be televised.

3. The Beach Boys - The SMiLE Sessions vs. Café Tacvba - Cuatro Caminos
Café Tacvba following Four Roads and the Beach Boys following Brian Wilson's paranoid delusions. SMiLE, please SMiLE.

4. Pete Seeger - We Shall Overcome: The Complete Carnegie Hall Concert, June 8, 1963 vs. The Lafayette Afro-Rock Band - Malik
Will Pete Seeger be the executioner of a third African band? Malik is excellent but, you know, Seeger shall overcome.

Stormcock

We Shall Overcome

Haven't heard The Dreaming quite yet. Age of Adz would be a challenge.

Sorry I haven't been good about hearing the non-Spotify ones. Just most of my listening lately is either at work or in the car. At work on my phone YouTube stops playing randomly or whenever I defocus the app and in the car I play CDs.

Kate Bush - The Dreaming (barely)
Gil Scott-Heron - Pieces of a Man (easily, all-time Top 20)
The Beach Boys - The SMiLE Sessions (easily, all-time Top 20, though this hardly seems fair)
Lafayette Afro Rock Band - malik (Seeger is more "important", but malik is more enjoyable)

Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz
Gil Scott-Heron - Pieces of a Man
The Beach Boys - The SMiLE Sessions
Pete Seeger - We Shall Overcome: The Complete Carnegie Hall Concert

Strong, strong group of albums. The only one of the eight that I'm not really wild about is "The Dreaming," though I'm certainly wild about most of Kate's discography. (Judging all of these as artists instead of albums, she'd probably only rank behind The Beach Boys and Gil for me.)

1. Kate Bush
2. GIL! SCOTT! HERON!
3. The Beach Boys
4. THE Lafayette Afro Rock Band

I have gained more respect for SMiLE since the previous round. It all flows together really well, and when it climaxes with "Good Vibrations" it's just so satisfying.

That being said, it is up against what I see as the least quarterfinal-worthy album here.
