Individual Artist Poll: Radiohead
Re: Individual Artist Poll: Radiohead
I believe A Moon Shaped Pool is now on spotify. Please, if you've made an album list and haven't yet listened to it, try to do so. It's running a tight race with another album and I'd hate for it to lose simply due to the fact that less people have listed it.
3 days remain to vote.

I'm voting, Bleu! I'm voting! A Moon-Shaped Pool is in my queue! I might get my votes up for tonight. So far I'm thinking my #1 album is going to seriously piss a lot of people off though...

Aww don't think like that, babydoll! We're pretty nice people! The only one that would truly piss me off is Pablo Honey, but even then, it's just an opinion.babydoll wrote:So far I'm thinking my #1 album is going to seriously piss a lot of people off though...
Re: Individual Artist Poll: Radiohead
I won't get pissed off. IMO, when it comes to Radiohead, songs or albums, there is no wrong answer.babydoll wrote:I might get my votes up for tonight. So far I'm thinking my #1 album is going to seriously piss a lot of people off though...
" Ah, yes! Our meager restitution"
Re: Individual Artist Poll: Radiohead
It's not Pablo Honey, at least. Anyway, my rankings:prosecutorgodot wrote:Aww don't think like that, babydoll! We're pretty nice people! Re: Individual Artist Poll: Radiohead
Fixed on both accounts. I somehow had "Nude" confused with "High and Dry". And, sorry, but I still get the latter's title confused.BleuPanda wrote:babydoll, you voted for Nude twice, and is "Everything Has Its Own Place" supposed to be "Everything In Its Right Place"?
Re: Individual Artist Poll: Radiohead
So, let's see...the deadline for the poll is tomorrow, which I'm going to take to mean midnight CST. However, since I will be sleeping during that time, as long as you have it in by 7 am CST on the morning of the 21st, it will be included.

Re: Individual Artist Poll: Radiohead
33 song lists submitted! (and a few less album lists)
I was not expecting these numbers, so this is a pleasant surprise.

Re: Individual Artist Poll: Radiohead
This poll's finally inspired me to join after years of lurking.
Albums
1. OK Computer
2. The Bends
3. Kid A
4. A Moon Shaped Pool
5. Hail To The Thief
6. Pablo Honey
7. Amnesiac
8. In Rainbows

7. Pyramid Song
8. Burn The Witch
9. Everything In Its Right Place
10. Paranoid Android
11. The Bends
12. Lucky
13. Creep
14. Decks Dark
15. Ripcord
16. I Will
17. Identikit
18. Motion Picture Soundtrack
19. Polyethylene (Parts 1 & 2)
20. Fake Plastic Trees
21. Talk Show Host
22. High & Dry
23. Man O' War (Big Boots)
24. Thinking About You
25. A Reminder
As others have said, the songs list is hard. In my opinion, Exit Music is the Mount Everest of OK Computer (with the bit where the big bass line kicks in being the summit) but in terms of an 'opportunity cost', it's difficult to deny that the album would suffer more from Paranoid Android being left out.

No songs ranking, because I hate ranking songs.
Well, I wasn't going to contribute to this topic initially, because I belong to an apparently otherwise empty in-between kind of people who are both annoyed by classic rock machoistic and hedonistic posturing, and Thom Yorke's whining and paranoia; and who top it all off with believing that despite some truly great moments, Radiohead's post-Kid A career is vastly overrated. That's right, I don't really like Radiohead. However, since I coincidentally did a run-through of their discography recently to write a (mixed) review for A Moon Shaped Pool on my Facebook page, I decided that I might just give it a shot. For the occasion, I did my first listenings of Pablo Honey and I Might Be Wrong, and while listening to the former was amusing — as Dinosaur Jr. imitators, they weren't actually half bad, which is a polite way of saying that more than half of the record was worth a shot, even though if I wanted a Dinosaur Jr. fix, I'd rather listen to the real thing, thank you very much — listening to the latter was enlightening. I thoroughly disagree with everyone who listened to it ranking it that low; the album features great performances of Kid A and Amnesiac material, full of energy and fun. Perhaps the fact that these performances are this great is frustrating to actual Radiohead fans, who might have wished for a full, career-retrospective live album featuring such magnetic performances instead of an oddly self-restrained 40 minutes-long album, but for a casual Radiohead listener like me, it was a more than satisfying listen.
