I have at least a semi-decent feeling that most of the albums on my list stand a good chance at ranking high, since I only picked 20. Then again, I think it might take a miracle for The Stranger to make it much higher (and I'd be very surprised, albeit very pleased, if it somehow made the top 500).

I'm happy to be its biggest fan. It's always hard to rate your favorite albums of recent years on your all-time list, but I think this album (and Blackstar, which I ranked around 70) will stand the test of time.

Love the variety and unpredictability of this poll. Really surprised and glad by the Freddie Gibbs/Madlib - Pinata That's the biggest surprise by far for me. The two The Weeknd albums surprised me as well, of course not House of Balloons, that was expected but those other two were subpar and subpar especially compared to Balloons. I'm wondering if the freshness/newness of those two albums played a factor, if so I'd be curious to see in about 3 years if those two albums are still in the top 1000.

Yes, my vote was based only in the disc 2.
A very good album with great personal lyrics and strong singles.

I always considered "HIStory" to have been underestimated after being released after the allegations.

I was also pretty surprised to see HIStory on this list, I didn't even realize it wasn't a full compilation.

Also not to be that guy, but the three "top fans" of the album have a combined 8 posts on the forum. I think that says a lot about why it's there.

Two of those were in that controversial group from last year; so they don't really participate in the forum, but they did stick around for our poll. Their presence is less pronounced, though, due to each list allowing 500 entrants compared to 100 artists last year.

I apologize for not participating actively in the forum, my time is very short because of my job. I participate in the voting because I always liked to follow the results, long before I started participating. Very good presentation, by the way

And answering spiderpig's doubt, I only took the disc 2 (HIStory) into consideration.

I'm in no position to judge here, as I have posted less than 20 times in the new forums (although I've been around for a while). I've always been reluctant to vote (now is my first time) because I rarely participate in the discussion, even though I often lurk. I would be cool with weighted votes depending on a user's forum participation, though (kind of like how I think RYM does their ratings). It could, however, be too complicated and also discouraging for new users. If I remember correctly, though, one the post-results lists is usually a list of the results counting only the votes from regular users.

This trio of voters definitely seems to be helping this good showing for mainstream music. Fun fact: they were also the top three fans of The Weeknd's "Starboy". Personally, I'm not too fond of this flirt with mainstream music but tastes are tastes. One man's meat is another man's poison, as they say.

That's good to know. I think that's the spirit of this poll. And it's definitely an intriguing choice, since it's not even on the AM list, despite coming from a well-known artist. Anyway, this poll is also a great way of learning about more obscure artists. I hope you can find out some new cool music here. I certainly do, every time!

Yeah I would definitely like to see a "forum regular" (whatever that is) version of the final list. But I don't think we should weight lists; everyone's vote should be equal (assuming everyone voting is voting only once and that we don't have any robots voting).

There will likely be a list at the end to compare the list with just members who voted in 2014 and 2017 to see what changed; in regards to the other topics, we had this discussion last year, a bunch of people got mad, so I'd like to suggest we end this here.
