In my head I've been working on a parody of They Might Be Giants 'Particle Man' with the lyrics of other famous songs.
"Nowhere Man, Nowhere Man, living in his nowhere land, telling all his nowhere plans to nobody man..."
"Obeah Man, Obeah Man, Exuma is the Obeah Man..."
Of course, Triangle Man beats Nowhere Man, but Obeah Man beats Triangle Man.
Yeah, I think the flatter point curve has been rough on a lot of my faves. Really great idea about the Top 10s that didn't make the cut! Would be an interesting list.Moonbeam wrote:

I anticipate that all of my top 10 will make the top 2950, which I'm quite happy about! Four of my top 10 were in the 2001-2950
range.
I think another fun exercise after the poll would be to see everyone's top 10 that didn't get a mention in the top 2950.
So, this might be a little controversial for me to bring up -- but there were a good number of lists posted by users that have barely ever posted here, either before or since. While that indeed is resulting in surprises, I'm not sure how representative it is of the board generally?
I would be really interested in seeing results of Top 200 lists only, weighted, for users with 100 or more posts. I might just do that after this finishes up!

I think this discussion has been brought up over the last several polls; a lot of the names are also the same people as those previous polls. My suggestion is we shouldn't continue this discussion because it ends up making everyone mad at each other, and the fact that I recognize most of these names at this point means they are regulars, just lurkers (who I hope would eventually make their presence known/explore our other forum polls and not solely participate in our big ones).

I have around 180 rap songs on my list (though about 15 are either by Kanye or Kanye produced) but I don't have any PE one. I know how trailblazing and important they are, and I can hear it, but I just don't enjoy their sound at all : I don't enjoy the (purposedly) messy samples, find the production unbalanced and don't really care for Flava Flav and Chuck D's rapping.Jirin wrote: Am I the biggest non-Kanye rap fan on this forum?
