I feel like a lot of the time critics will somewhat arbitrarily rally around a song from an album they consider one of the best of the decade and Alright was relevant at the time so that's why it topped all those lists. I personally prefer The Blacker the Berry and Wesley's Theory to it.

I'll say that I think a large part of why 20s comedies seem a lot better is that, it this point, the movies people remember are a relatively small amount that have been long tested by time.

Though, at the top of my head, no one in the 90s seems like they're Chaplin or Keaton level.
