Sorry, no Grimes, no Sufjan Stevens or Julia Holter. Have Don Henley, Mark Knopfler, Keith Richards, Darlene Love, James Taylor and Selena Gomez instead.

Boy, Rolling Stone keeps it rollin'...

Downhill, that is.

At least they got #1 right. And, they didn't forget to include D'Angelo.

Surely we expect this by now from them. Actually by their usual standards this list isn't too horrendous.

Surprised Dylan's album so low. That's a typical top 10 choice for Rolling Stone.

I'd guess it would be due to it being a covers album but they've got a Broadway soundtrack in top 10 so who knows?

I am now going to be severely disappointed by every EOY list that doesn't include Boz Scaggs.

It somehow has a metascore of 84 with 9 reviews at 80 (and nothing else)... I'll never understand how they do an average on Metacritic.

I believe not all 80s are created equal. I think this is due to some sites/sources being looser with their ratings. At some sites 80 is an average score whereas others 80 is higher than normal so they compare average scores between sources and curve it accordingly.

it's like the All Music site- a 4-star Beatles album shouldn't be compared to a 4-star Backstreet Boys album- the ratings are to be compared only to the particular act's other albums.

Nice to see Rebel Heart make the cut, though I don't expect many other notices (even though it is a decent album). RS best celebrate Her Madgesty's latest work, after issuing that special edition this year. :P

I personally really like Can't Feel My Face, so it's a good number-one pick. Not too fond of some other choices...

6. Adele- Hello
5. Jamie xx- I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)

Not a problem.

Once again, Rolling Stone have put out a list full of some good picks and some total headscratchers. I like "Can't Feel My Face", though it didn't make my top 50 songs of the year. I really don't like "Trap Queen" at all, Fetty Wap's yalping voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Though thanks to this list I decided to check out "Lean On", and was extremely happy with what I discovered. Instantly moved into my top 50 songs of the year.
