Rainbow – I Surrender: 7
Unfashionable rock with cheesy lyrics and singing, but I can't resist the guitar, especially how it comes on after the piano part in the chorus.

826. Rainbow – I Surrender: 6.5
Ahhh... Difficult To Cure- I caught Rainbow on back-to-back nights on this tour, my first (of several) exposures to Blackmore. They were fun shows, but - alas - I feel the band's studio output around this time (albeit occasionally catchy) was overall a bit underwhelming. Every verse and chorus seemed to me like filler while awaiting the guitar solos. That's probably why the instrumental re-interpretation of Beethoven's Ninth is my favorite track from this album.

Thanks!

Edit - Oh yes, and once glance at the album cover will enable you to understand how I ended up with the ugliest concert t-shirt in my collection!

I may not in general like the doo-wop from Hymie's list, but these rockabilly songs tend to be a lot of fun. This is no exception.

It's a direct copy of this, with different lyrics.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - She's So Fine: 6

I mean the instrumental part is more than fine, but Noel Redding's voice has to be one of the most non-descript of the era. I never understood why got to sing the occasional song. To add insult to injury, you can't actually find this song on Spotify when searching under Jimi Hendrix, as the song is solely credited to Redding. Whatever.

One of those songs I’m surprised has only one vote (and a later added one at that). I’m equally surprised it is only bubbling on AM.

830. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Almost Cut My Hair

He was not a very technical singer, but he sounds very forceful. He has way more vocal character and charisma than Noel Redding.

Déjà Vu is such a gentle album that this paranoid sounding blues rock song always comes a bit as a shock. Wonderful vocal by Crosby.
