Is their a most acclaimed music videos of all time list?

Post by letmeintomyzone »

I'm considering making a top 100 Most Acclaimed Music Video list, but, I just wanted to know if something like this exists. I think I saw something here, a long time ago, but I couldn't find it

We had a poll here on the site before - I’m sure I can find the link…

A couple of websites have done lists of the best music videos by decade or of all time (Rolling Stone, Spin, Billboard, and I’m pretty sure NME have all done such lists at some point). You can also check which music videos have been added to different film registries, like how the Thriller video is in the National Film Registry.

RYM added music video ratings a little while ago so they have an all-time chart now.

Ooo, thanks for mentioning those.

Like a Prayer wins. Sabotage and Sledgehammer alone have top 10 overlap with Rate Your Music. Spin seems '80s/'90s-oriented like Rolling Stone was '60s/'70s-oriented; but This Is America deservedly makes the top 10.

This is still pretty new, so maybe the list hasn't settled in yet. Thriller is tops, Take on Me makes a top 5 again, and Sledgehammer rates high, but there are also a good amount of 2010s entries in the top 10.

You know what? There's a DDD list and it's not even very good. Here's the thread for it, with lots of major criticism: https://digitaldreamdoor.com/forum/view ... =23&t=6307

I'm hoping to finish before 2023 ends, along with two other projects counting down the Most Acclaimed Comics & Graphic Novels, and Most Acclaimed TV Episodes, but, I'm dealing with a lot of personal mental health and personal problems, and still dealing with how to collect and datamine the lists.
