Michael Bublé - Lost: 3
I hadn't heard this in years, but I didn't exactly want to either. Not only do I remember a time when Michael Bublé was always on the radio, especially with this song, I also vividly remember my little sister playing this album on repeat in what at the time seemed like an endless vicious cycle. No wonder I moved out soon after and decided to study at the other side of the country!
Michael Bublé is one the few artists who makes inoffensive music sound offensive, simply by his blandness. Some call his the heir to Sinatra, but did Sinatra ever sound this dull, flat and lifeless? At least Lost is not from Sinatra's repertoire, but otherwise it is the boring song I remember it being. Sorry to Neil, but this song brings back memories.

I usually think of Bublé as the lowlight of the Christmas radio rotation. Now that I'm raising a kid, I must admit that he does a good rendition of Sesame Street's "Believe in Yourself."

In all honesty I haven't been too impressed in general with the Prince deep cuts that Moonbeam has served us, but this one is a happy exception. It is quite the epic!

Re: Biggest Fan Songs - January 2021
Hey Rob,
No need to apologize. LOL I was kind of dreading the day this one came up in rotation. I anticipated that it would be ripped to shreds. Believe me, there is more mindless, sappy drivel to come from my top songs...happy listening. ha ha This is one of the few threads I follow. It is always interesting to see what one person really likes on the AM forum but, everybody else totally despises. I am still surprised that my highest ranking song in this forum is from Mama Cass. Keep up the good work. I thoroughly enjoy this thread. I'm pretty sure this one has fallen out of my TOP 1000. We shall see when the next top songs poll rolls around.

Considering I in general don't connect to chansons that is actually rather high. It has a good melody, but there also seems to be a lot going on in a lyrical sense, which goes past my French knowledge I'm afraid.

Kind of funny all those Dutch bands coming up and me having nothing to do with it, with one exception. Here is another one, by some guys who for the most part would later be in the far more famous band Focus:
735. Brainbox - Summertime
Year: 1969
Album: Brainbox
Biggest Fan: BobPatience (#unranked)

Damn low votes here, but to me this is a great version of a song that you'd think had been covered enough by 1969. This one sounds so big and epic, with those enormous riffs. I love it.

Powerful blues. The harmonica is fierce on this one!
The Dandy Warhols - Godless: 6
Though I have heard Bohemian Like You more times than I could possible count I don't think I ever heard anything else from The Dandy Warhols. This is a far less catchy song. It's good, but it never catches fire so to speak.

In a coincidence, shortly after the news of the death of MF Doom and while I’m preparing for the review for Madvilliany, one of the songs from the duo Madvillain makes it’s appearance here. It is their only ranking song, at #6732.
738. Madvillain, featuring Quasimoto – America’s Most Blunted
Year: 2003
Album: Madvillainy
Biggest Fan: Bootsy (#816)

You're in luck! A purely instrumental version was actually released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2EhtSo ... l=AlexBeat
Madvillain, featuring Quasimoto – America’s Most Blunted: 7
Not actually my favorite song on Madvillainy, but still a good showcase of the looney approach this duo had to making music, where everything seems possible and you end up surprised that all the disparate elements end up making one whole, even though it shouldn't. It's also plain fun, despite all the experimentation.
The review of the album should be up by Tuesday if all goes well.
